Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Manager in the Department of Emergency Medicine within the New Jersey Medical School (NJMS).

The Program Manager oversees the administration, operations, and programmatic functions of ongoing programs, ensuring they adhere to institutional policies and contribute to policy development. This role includes managing program activities, collaborating on study protocols, and guiding the analysis and reporting of research data. The Senior Project Manager integrates program management with research efforts, whether involving human subjects or laboratory studies, to achieve program objectives effectively.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Provides technical advice, problem-solving assistance, and answers to questions regarding program goals and policy interpretations. Refer issues to the appropriate department or person when necessary.
  • Develops, monitors, and reconciles program and research budgets and grants. Assist in preparing proposals for corporate, foundation, and donor funding. Oversee the reconciliation of budget expenditures.
  • Hire program staff and manage performance appraisals, promotions, transfers, and other personnel transactions. Supervise subordinate personnel and provide guidance on research methods and techniques.
  • Develop and implement new or revised program goals, strategies, and objectives. Create and manage program work plans, oversee projects and daily operations, and coordinate activities through assigned staff.
  • Maintain liaison with other departments to coordinate program activities and training, ensure cooperative efforts, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Administers procedures and systems, and ensure effective dissemination of information to staff.
