Position Summary Position headquarters flexible in Dublin, Pleasanton, or Oakland. This position is "hyrid" with the expectation of being in the office Tuesday-Wednesday (subject to change due to business needs).
The Principal Program Manager will lead execution performance initiatives across Electric Operations, with a specific focus on the Electric Transmission and Distribution Weekly Operating Review (Electric WOR). This role blends business analysis, program management, and leadership capabilities to drive data-informed decision-making, continuous improvement, and strategic alignment. The Program Manager will serve as both a steward and innovator of the WOR process, ensuring consistent execution while identifying and implementing enhancements that improve clarity, efficiency, and impact. This role reports into the Electric Performance and Reporting team and works closely with senior leaders, Lean coaches, and functional area representatives.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $144,000
Bay Area Maximum: $244,000

California Minimum: $137,000
California Maximum: $232,000
Responsibilities: Operating Review Leadership
- Support the weekly execution of the Electric WOR, including agenda development, stakeholder engagement, and follow-up tracking for action items and escalations.
- Ensure visual management practices are in place to track KPIs across Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Morale (SQCDM).
- Manage pre-read and post-read distribution, wall display logistics, and real-time action item capture.
- Lead and manage the team's Internal MOR process while driving the development and implementation of the ET&D MOR. Provide additional support for ad hoc initiatives and continuous improvement efforts that advance ET&D Lean objectives.
Lean Execution & Continuous Improvement
- Apply Lean principles to standardize work, eliminate waste, and promote problem-solving at the team level.
- Own and evolve WOR guidelines, incorporating feedback and lessons learned.
- Drive updates to the WOR process map and tactical implementation plans.
- Partner with Lean Business Coaches to advance Lean maturity and embed Lean culture across Electric Operations.
Performance Analytics & Reporting
- Design and maintain dashboards and visual tools (e.g., Power BI) to monitor execution performance and identify trends.
- Analyze operational data to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Maintain consistency in visual formats (e.g., trend charts, Paretos, catchback plans).
- Present insights to leadership in clear, actionable formats.
Process Ownership & Continuous Improvement- Own and evolve the internal and external WOR guidelines, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and lessons learned.
- Drive updates to the WOR process map and tactical implementation plans to reflect current workflows and improvement opportunities.
- Lead change management efforts for new processes, tools, or expectations introduced into the WOR.
Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership- Build strong relationships with leaders across ET&D
- Serve as the primary liaison between Performance Management and functional area teams contributing to the WOR.
- Facilitate feedback loops with contributors and action item owners to ensure accountability and closure.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to a high-performance culture.
QualificationsMinimum: - Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
- 10 years of related experience or equivalent
Desired: - Ten years of related experience or equivalent in business analysis, program management, or operations within a utility or regulated industry.
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering Management, or related field.
- PMP Certification.
- Proven experience facilitating operating reviews and applying Lean principles.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in Electric Operations or Transmission & Distribution environments.
- Lean Six Sigma certification.
- Ability to lead the most significant, most complex projects across the line of business supported (i.e., Customer Care, Human Resources, etc.).
- Deep knowledge and expertise of business and or industry drivers.
- Ability to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams.
- Adept at addressing issues with diplomacy and tact.
