Full Job Description
The ORBIT Program Management Office serves the VP offices across NA Last Mile (AMZL), and this role is unique: rather than owning one portfolio's outcomes, you'll own the *how* across all of them-building the mechanisms, standards, and automations that multiply impact across six portfolios. You'll convert automation delivery from one-off projects into a repeatable intake-to-delivery pipeline, reclaim hundreds of hours through AI-assisted workflows, and build tools that ship into production the next morning.

This is a horizontal builder seat with leverage across Supply Chain and Last Mile Operations. You'll standardize the team's rhythm of business, own flash reporting and standard work libraries outright, and see the entire NA Last Mile operating rhythm in your first quarter-insight that usually takes years. Automation isn't a side project here; it's the mission, and you'll be accountable for a measurable share of the team's 60% manual-prep-reduction target. Because this role touches all six portfolios, it's the natural bench for portfolio ownership as the team grows.

Key job responsibilities

- Own and scale ORBIT's standard work library, reporting standards, and flash reporting mechanisms, converting automation delivery from one-off projects into a repeatable intake-to-delivery pipeline that runs without manual intervention

- Partner with Business Intelligence Engineers and portfolio leaders to design, prototype, and deploy AI-assisted automations-from auto-flagging compliance gaps to document assembly workflows-and track reclaimed hours against the team's 60% manual-prep-reduction goal

- Audit and standardize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across six portfolios, ensuring mechanisms align with current practice and identifying opportunities to permanently remove manual effort from recurring deliverables

- Manage cross-functional program lifecycles that span Network Operations, Fleet, Safety, ACES, RME, WHS, PXT, Finance, and Last Mile Tech, applying process improvement methodologies to drive operational excellence and meet promised deadlines

- Communicate program status, analyze KPIs to create targeted action plans, and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to resolve blockers, escalate appropriately, and ensure all teams remain aligned on priorities and deliverables

A day in the life

Your morning starts with the team pulse: pull status across portfolios, check automated feeds for gaps, resolve data questions with portfolio leaders, and publish before the leadership day begins. Mid-morning brings a working session with a Business Intelligence Engineer to extend an auto-flagging rule so compliance gaps surface on their own. Afternoons balance fixed-cadence governance work with project work that permanently removes effort-auditing SOPs against current practice, scoping automations by measuring how long recurring document assembly actually takes, prototyping AI-assisted versions, and logging reclaimed hours.

About the team

ORBIT Program Management Office serves as the program management backbone for VP offices across NA Last Mile (AMZL)-Supply Chain and Last Mile Operations. We own and enable the rhythm of business: recurring cadence, leadership-facing deliverables, strategic initiatives, executive events, and high volume event readiness, delivered across six portfolios including Network of Operations, High Volume Events, Supply Chain, Strategic Initiatives & Executive Events, Business Analytics, and Internal AI Integrations.

Our mission is operational excellence through automation: a 60% reduction in manual prep time, OP1 planning compressed from ten days to four, and 95%+ action item completion. We partner daily with Network Operations, Fleet, Safety, ACES, RME, WHS, PXT, Finance, and Last Mile Tech. We take pride in building the tools and standards that make Amazon's largest operations organization easier to run and easier to improve-and our AI work ships into production, from business review summaries to automated quality assessors to records agents running live through peak.
