Full Job Description
Support the environmental management and sustainability programs for the Siemens Healthineers Varian business area. Primary function will be to provide project management and technical expertise for environmental legacy remediation projects. Coordinate technical and financial aspects with internal organizations and third-party entities with involvement in these environmental remediation projects. • Work with external consultants, outside legal resources, third parties and internal teams to conduct environmental remediation activities, liability estimates and financial provisioning. • Manage the strategy on soil/groundwater remediation projects in the portfolio to closure; define the technical scope/approach, manage consultants and outside legal, review the consultants reports and ensure the company strategy is executed. • Coordinate/interact proactively with local authorities, government regulators, property owners and other third parties to manage stakeholder expectations. • Manage administrative requirements associated with environmental projects such as budget forecasts, invoices, quarterly and annual review of financial provisions, initiating purchase requisition and support any internal/external financial audits, etc. • Review/update/develop on periodic basis, financial liability estimates, addressing all technical, human health and environmental, regulatory, and legal risks. Calibrate financial requirements with Varian Associates spinco finance organizations, submit financial assurance documentation to appropriate regulatory agencies, and prepare and submit cleanup cost reimbursement documentation requests according to cost sharing agreements. • Participate in support of potential property-related environmental liabilities associated with any contamination present on adjoining or associated real estate portfolio. • Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive environmental experience in site remediation, M&A due diligence (Phase I/II), environmental auditing, etc in a corporate or global setting. • Understanding of financial accounting for environmental liabilities, reviewing contract language, lease/property acquisitions for environmental aspects, managing environmental indemnity claims, etc. • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects in a leadership position is required. • Bachelor's degree in geology, environmental science, environmental engineering or related field is required. Post graduate qualification in environmental or related field (engineering or sciences) is strongly desired. • Thorough understanding environmental regulations is required, some international is preferred • Ability to influence and convince others (including senior leaders) to achieve the environmental and business objectives is important. • Highly motivated, energetic, self-directed individual with good analytical and problem-solving skills. Willingness to take ownership of issues and win buy-in of others. • 5-10% travel The base pay range for this position is: $89,220 - $122,672 Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
