Full Job Description
Job Description

The Merchandising Program Management team is part of the broader Process, Program & Deployment organization, which works cross-functionally to support the Nordstrom Merchandising Group (NMG) by implementing business process improvements and deploying new tools and systems that support Nordstrom's growth ambition. As a Program Manager 2, you'll drive governance, change management, and cross-functional coordination across a portfolio of NMG programs — and own smaller program tracks end-to-end.

Your primary focus will be the coordination, communication, and operational rigor that keeps complex programs running smoothly. Alongside that, you'll have the opportunity to take full ownership of discrete program workstreams — managing scope, stakeholders, and delivery independently.

You'll report to the Senior Manager of Program Management and collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, Business Process, and Business Deployment teams. This role is built for someone who thrives on bringing order to complexity, communicating clearly, and making sure the right information reaches the right people at the right time.

This is a hybrid position requiring you to work in person four days a week at the Nordstrom corporate offices in Seattle, WA.

A day in the life…

  • Prepare and maintain agendas, materials, and action item tracking for business-facing governance meetings, ensuring forums run smoothly and the work moves forward effectively.
  • Translate complex program updates and change impacts into clear, audience-right communications for stakeholders ranging from peers to senior leaders — adjusting tone, depth, and framing based on who's reading.
  • Build supporting resources for change management efforts, including FAQs, reference guides, and stakeholder updates, in partnership with the Senior Manager of Program Management.
  • Own discrete program workstreams end-to-end — managing scope, coordinating across stakeholders, tracking progress, and driving to outcomes with limited oversight.
  • Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and session preparation, effectively partnering with cross-functional teams ensuring the right people are engaged at the right points in the program.
  • Track and monitor success metrics, engagement data, and program health indicators to surface trends and inform leadership decisions.
  • Stay connected with cross-functional teams and your leadership team through regular check-ins, document program updates, and surface issues before they impact business outcomes.

You own this if you have…

  • 3+ years of experience in program management, communications, change management, or a related field, ideally in a large, matrixed organization or technology program delivery environment.
  • Experience supporting governance or operational cadences, including preparing meeting materials, tracking decisions, and following up on action items across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, audience-appropriate content
  • Demonstrated ability to own a workstream independently — driving scope, managing stakeholder expectations, and delivering outcomes without step-by-step direction.
  • Solid organizational skills and attention to detail, with a track record of managing multiple workstreams and keeping programs on track in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where the path forward isn't always fully defined.
  • A collaborative working style and the ability to build relationships and work effectively across diverse teams without formal authority.

We’d love to talk to you even if you don’t meet every single qualification. If you’re excited about this role and our purpose, we encourage you to apply.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with project tracking and collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence, JIRA, Microsoft 365, or similar platforms).
  • Comfort communicating with and creating content for executive-level audiences.
