This position is located in the Office of the Assistant Secretary - Transitional Services.The Program Manager/Deputy Director provides leadership and oversight for statewide offender reentry and transitional services for individuals housed in local jails and state institutions.
The position is responsible for ensuring that reentry programs and services are effectively coordinated, appropriately staffed, properly implemented, and delivered with fidelity.
This is a leadership position that requires strong organizational, communication, supervisory, program management, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaborate with multiple agencies and partners statewide.
Minimum Qualifications Seven years of experience in administrative services; public health, social services, or health services; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus four years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; OR
An advanced degree in a social science field, public health, counseling, social work, rehabilitation services, business, public, or health administration, or Juris Doctorate plus three years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information - Reviewing reports and program data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established requirements.
- Conducting scheduled and unscheduled audits and monitoring of Transition Specialist programs, assessments, and training to ensure services are delivered with fidelity.
- Assisting with the development, revision, and implementation of rules, regulations, procedures, and processes supporting a continuum of reentry and transitional services.
- Developing and maintaining partnerships with outside agencies, organizations, community groups, and individuals to expand resources and services available to offenders.
- Identifying staff training and development needs and ensuring appropriate training is provided.
