Your opportunity:

Under a general guidance of the Manager, Summer Abroad Programs, the Program Coordinators provide administrative and program support for the Summer Abroad portfolio. They advise students on academic and financial matters, coordinate program-related communications and outreach initiatives, and support recruitment activities through events and social media engagement.

The Program Coordinators play a key role in planning and delivering student orientations and pre-departure workshops, as well as providing ongoing support to students throughout their Summer Abroad experience. They work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful administration and delivery of programs.

There are two vacancies available:
• One (1) one-year term position, focus on Summer Abroad Language Programs.
• One (1) continuing position, focus on Summer Abroad Science Programs.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Advising students on academic and/or financial matters by providing options and consequences incorporating personal circumstances impacting academic success and an understanding of an individual's background
  • Providing detailed information on program and/or course eligibility requirements, procedures, policies and deadlines
  • Analyzing statistical information to inform enrollment projections and planning
  • Producing promotional and outreach materials
  • Leading seminars and/or workshops
  • Delivering student recruitment presentations
  • Reviewing and assessing admissions applications
  • Analyzing potential placement opportunities to determine suitability with student academic learning objectives

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum four (4) years of related experience with coordination of academic programs for degree credit, advising students, and overseeing the application and registration process, including eligibility assessments.
  • Within the 4 years of recent and related experience, at least one year of experience in a university setting that includes work directly related to the delivery of international degree courses for undergraduate students is required.
  • Experience contacting overseas institutions, academic coordinators, on-site program coordinators, and instructors with regard to summer abroad programs.
  • Experience conducting information and orientation sessions in-person to large groups.
  • Experience editing and writing for social media audiences on multiple platforms, including Instagram, Facebook and X
  • Training or experience in project coordination or management.
  • Proficiency in ROSI and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including creating datasets and manipulating them in desktop systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with high volume and tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure within a rapidly changing environment to meet competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to use databases and manage SharePoint Team and Communication sites
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with a strong commitment to client service.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to deal with a large volume of correspondence with students, overseas partners, and staff.
  • Demonstrate a strong awareness of and sensitivity to diversity, inclusion, and equity
  • Ability to take initiative to solve program-related issues.
  • Excellent analytical and interpretative skills with the ability to understand and apply a large amount of information and a complex set of guidelines with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated diplomacy and tact.


Assets (Nonessential):
  • Experience of living in a foreign country and fluency in one or more foreign languages (such as German, Spanish or Portuguese)
  • Experience supporting the development, implementation, and evaluation of language-learning programs and familiarity with international higher education systems
  • Experience in planning, delivery, and evaluation of logistical arrangements for field-based science courses conducted abroad
