Turner & Townsend is seeking a Program Controller to join our San Francisco Bay area Project Management team, and oversee complex capital projects across multiple sectors, including commercial real estate, corporate interiors, healthcare facilities, and data centers. This role combines strategic program oversight with hands-on construction management, supporting a key technology client in achieving its financial and operational goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, schedules, and governance frameworks.
  • Ensure alignment with client goals and track performance using KPIs and metrics.
  • Oversee design, construction, and closeout phases across diverse project types.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
  • Supervise multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, and contractors.
  • Provide technical guidance on cost control, constructability, and value engineering.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with property managers, healthcare administrators, and technical teams.
  • Communicate project updates and strategy to senior leadership.
  • Support readiness assessments and stage gate reviews across programs.
  • Collaborate with regional program managers and project controls teams.
  • Lead program-level reporting and governance activities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and delivery innovations.
  • Capture and share lessons learned to enhance future project performance.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related technical field; a Master's degree is preferred and may substitute for some experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience managing capital projects, with a strong track record across sectors such as commercial real estate, healthcare, and data centers.
  • Extensive experience in project controls, including developing and managing budgets, schedules, forecasts, and performance metrics on large-scale programs.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams through all phases of project delivery, from planning and design through construction and closeout.
  • Proficiency in project management and reporting tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience presenting to senior stakeholders and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction documentation, procurement processes, and standard contract forms (e.g., AIA, FIDIC, or similar), with experience in contract negotiation and administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and client satisfaction.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, AACE, or equivalent are highly desirable and reflect a commitment to industry best practices.


Additional Information

The salary range for this full-time role is $120K-$150K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate's experience and qualifications.
