Job Summary

Artemis is seeking a Program Analyst (EDI Production Issue Coordinator) supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Community Care Network Next Generation (CCN NG) and Veterans Family Member Program (VFMP), you will serve as a critical link in identifying, triaging, and resolving Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) production issues that directly impact the delivery of healthcare benefits to Veterans and their families. Working within a federal contracting environment, you will collaborate with VA stakeholders, third-party payers, and internal technical teams to ensure the integrity and continuity of EDI X12 transaction flows across VA-managed and cloud-based systems. This role operates at the intersection of healthcare technology, data operations, and Agile delivery, requiring both analytical precision and cross-functional coordination.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented problem-solver with deep expertise in EDI operations and a demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced Agile environments where production stability and Veteran-facing outcomes are the top priorities. You communicate complex technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and take ownership of issues from identification through resolution

Primary Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary coordinator for EDI production issues, triaging incoming defects and discrepancies related to X12 EDI transactions (e.g., 837, 835, 270/271, 278) and driving them to resolution in alignment with VA program timelines and SLAs.
  • Utilize Agile workflows and JIRA to log, track, prioritize, and manage EDI production issues through the full defect lifecycle, ensuring clear documentation of root cause analysis, resolution steps, and stakeholder communications.
  • Conduct data analysis using SQL queries and searches across cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS) and VA-managed systems to investigate production anomalies, validate transaction data, and troubleshoot reporting discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with VA contracting officers, program managers, EDI trading partners, and technical development teams to identify systemic EDI data mapping issues and recommend corrective actions or process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain clear written documentation including issue logs, status reports, root cause analyses, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support program transparency and institutional knowledge retention.
  • Monitor EDI transaction volumes and processing trends to proactively identify emerging production risks, surface patterns requiring escalation, and support continuous improvement of EDI operations across the CCN NG and VFMP programs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in EDI operations, healthcare technology troubleshooting, or Agile delivery practices within a healthcare or federal IT environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or a closely related field is required.
  • Prior experience working with VA, CMS, or comparable federal healthcare payer systems is strongly preferred; demonstrated familiarity with VA EDI workflows, Community Care programs, or federal health IT contracting environments is a plus.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a VA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential and satisfy VA background investigation requirements for system access; ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance may be required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship; this position does not support visa sponsorship.
  • Proficiency with EDI X12 transaction sets and data mapping standards, experience running SQL queries for data validation and troubleshooting, and strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical findings to non-technical audiences.
