Full Job Description
The Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester invites applications for a full-time faculty appointment in Choral Conducting beginning 1 July 2027. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience. Responsibilities include leading choral ensembles, teaching graduate conducting students, teaching conducting classes, and maintaining national/international standing as a conductor and teacher. The faculty member will contribute to the musical life of the Eastman School of Music by participating in recruitment, auditions, juries, and concerts. In compliance with the NY Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $170,000. The University of Rochester considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. Qualifications Candidates should have a strong reputation as a conductor on the national and/or international level, in addition to a proven record of successful recruiting and teaching of outstanding students in a conservatory or university music school.
