About the PositionThe Professional Engineer (PE) will play a critical role in supporting field operations across heavy civil projects ranging from $500K to $50M. This position is based in St. George, UT and supports projects throughout Southern Utah and the Four Corners region.
This is an ideal opportunity for a licensed professional who enjoys working in the field, collaborating closely with operations teams, and directly contributing to successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities- Perform construction staking and layout for earthwork, utilities, roadways, bridges, and site development projects
- Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, and coordinate systems
- Operate GPS (RTK), robotic total stations, data collectors, and related survey equipment
- Interpret civil plans, specifications, and CAD files to translate design into field layout
- Verify grades, elevations, alignments, and slopes to ensure work meets design tolerances
- Conduct topographic surveys and document existing site conditions
- Support quantity tracking and progress measurement efforts
- Prepare and maintain as-built drawings and survey documentation
- Collaborate daily with project managers, superintendents, and field crews
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and quality control procedures
RequirementsEducation & Credentials- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Experience- 2-5 years of experience in heavy civil construction
- Experience supporting projects ranging from $500,000 to $50,000,000
Technical & Project Experience- Heavy civil construction
- Land development
- Asphalt paving

- Underground utilities
- Strong understanding of field layout, grade control, and production support
