Full Job Description
DATA QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST

Performs quality assurance and control of asset data collected across facility and building systems programs, including data accuracy, image compliance, asset classification, and database upload integrity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reviews incoming asset data submissions for completeness, accuracy, and conformance to client field requirements and program scope.
  • Validates field-submitted photographs for compliance with client image protocols including required angles, data plate legibility, and resolution standards.
  • Verifies asset classifications against program tagging schemas; maintains a log of scope exceptions and classification edge cases for consistent downstream handling.
  • Performs pre-upload QA checks on structured data exports to ensure proper formatting and compliance with client database field mappings prior to submission.
  • Supports development and maintenance of QA/QC standard operating procedures and checklists; works alongside field collectors and program teams to communicate findings and drive continuous improvement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • No direct supervisory responsibilities. Works collaboratively with field collection teams and program managers to uphold data quality standards and support team performance across active programs.


QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma required.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in engineering, construction management, information systems, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in data quality, asset management, facilities data collection, or related program operations.
  • Familiarity with commercial building systems (HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, point-of-sale) preferred.
  • Prior experience with CMMS platforms and structured data validation workflows a plus.


CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES
  • No required certifications.


COMMUNICATION SKILLS
  • Ability to clearly document QA findings, rejection rationale, and corrective action requirements in written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to deliver performance feedback to field personnel constructively and professionally.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while managing data across multiple concurrent client programs.


REASONING ABILITY
  • Strong analytical judgment with the ability to make defensible accept/reject decisions and identify root causes of systemic data quality issues.
  • Ability to manage scope ambiguity, distinguish classification edge cases from clear errors, and escalate appropriately.


OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data validation, deduplication, and QA tracking.
  • Experience with SharePoint or equivalent cloud platforms for document management and structured file review.
  • Ability to manage parallel review queues across multiple active programs simultaneously.
  • Self-directed and detail-oriented; comfortable working in a remote, high-volume data environment.

Estimated compensation for this position:

88,000.00 - 95,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
