Job Highlights

  • Lead daily operations of the Benzoates plant to safely and efficiently execute the production schedule. Monitor operating conditions and adjust priorities based on equipment, raw materials, and staffing to achieve production, quality, and efficiency targets.
  • Lead and supervise operators by setting clear expectations for safety, performance, and operating discipline. Provide daily direction, coaching, and feedback while reinforcing consistency and accountability.
  • Prioritize maintenance activities based on production needs, equipment criticality, and operational risk. Coordinate with Maintenance and Reliability Engineering to address recurring issues, reduce unplanned downtime, and execute maintenance priorities effectively.
  • Promote safe operating practices and ensure compliance with legal requirements, procedures, and site standards. Participate in PHAs, MOCs, and incident investigations; ensure actions are implemented and safety or compliance concerns are escalated.
  • Drive improvements in process stability, OEE, efficiency, and production losses. Partner with the Process Engineer to troubleshoot operational challenges, implement process improvements, and sustain measurable performance gains.


Experience / Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or Chemical Engineering.
  • 5-10 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Experience supervising and directing people and other resources to achieve operational results.
  • Understanding of chemical manufacturing operations, process safety, and safe operating practices. SAP experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with PSM, ISO programs, GMP regulations, and relevant safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to set clear expectations, maintain accountability, and lead unionized operators in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

In accordance with Washington state requirements, the established pay range for this position is Min $107,800 Mid $143,700 Max $179,600. Where an individual falls within this range will depend on the hiring budget, internal equity, and the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
