Team Summary
Production Support Specialists perform a range of duties to aid and optimize the production process. They play an active role in the pre-production stage, preparing components and supplies and verifying all project documentation is thorough and complete. They may work as a liaison communicating with the customer, identifying their priorities and challenges and then ensuring a streamlined process that achieves intended goals with minimal issues. They confirm all specifications and job details are accurate. They may perform inspections and serve a quality assurance role.

Job Summary
We are looking for a Production Specialist who will be responsible for monitoring the technical operations department to meet quality and productivity objectives in a safe and efficient manner. Duties include development of operating procedures, safe work practices, process problem-solving, operator training, and resolution of day to day production department issues.

Essential Duties
  • Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Improve and maintain software development, test and live infrastructure and services.
  • Work closely with the Development, Technical Operations, QA, and Product Management teams, to ensure the down time and performance of Change Healthcare platforms.
  • Identify and drive improvements in infrastructure and system reliability, performance, monitoring, and overall stability of the platform.
  • Capacity planning and demand forecasting to meet systems demand, identifying performance bottlenecks and devising tuning improvements.
  • Build tools and automation that eliminate repetitive tasks and prevent incident occurrence.
  • Participate in 24x7 operational support and on-call rotation shifts.
  • Being a leader in creating a Safety First culture, and communication of our Safety protocols and HBC principles
  • Maintain productivity and foster continuous improvement through sound management practices including communication of goals, training of operators, directing the Production operation within established process specifications, and identification and resolution of production and Safety related issues.
  • Support GAF Business Management Systems and associated programs
  • Provide a safe workplace through adherence to company safety policies, housekeeping and defined standards of training.
  • Monitor compliance to safety policies and procedures, conduct inspections of plant areas and ensure deficiencies found are addressed appropriately in a timely manner. Create new, or modify existing safety procedures when required.
  • Ensure production crews are well trained, involved and committed to meeting production, quality and safety requirements. Be the primary safety trainer for the Production department's new employees and others when requested.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Lead Operators, and crews. Ensure production operators receive appropriate training for their positions. Provide technical support through direct leadership in a highly involved workplace.
  • Supporting the implementation, and sustainability of various new GAF initiatives - These include FORCE, 5S, Brain Cube, Poka, and others. These programs have proven to add value to the business when implemented, and sustained effectively.
  • Maintain an excellent quality level of the product produced at the lowest cost. Monitor key operating parameters to ensure the product adheres to specifications while minimizing raw material usage. Act as a liaison between the production crews and quality department on issues. Work with production crews to identify and reduce controllable quality issues.
  • Manage projects of appropriate nature. Cover production shifts for supervisors as needed.

Qualifications Required
  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
  • Associates Degree (AA) Preferred or
  • Bachelors Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Preferred
  • 5+ years of work experience in a heavy manufacturing environment coupled with experience in continuous process industry, preferably a webbed based process. Required

Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Individual compensation offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant candidate experience and skill, education, and/or qualifications.

Base Salary Range: $68,000-$93,500
