Full Job Description
Production Shift Supervisor We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Production Supervisor on the overnight shift (weekly rotating schedule) at our high-profile Minneapolis, MN union plant. The annual salary range for this position is $80,000 to $95,000. Primary Responsibilities: • Accomplishes results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching and counseling employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. • Is a champion of the company safety and employee engagement programs and adheres to all appropriate safety policies and procedures in the course of directing employees and seeks opportunities to improve safe work practices. • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures. • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments. • Assists in the completion of production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries. • Maintains quality production by understanding and enforcing organization standards for quality and technical specifications. • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques. • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests. • Maintains working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action. Preferred Qualifications • High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associates degree in a technical field is preferred or equivalent of education and experience. • Leadership work experience in Manufacturing. • Solid written and verbal communication skills. • Outstanding follow up and attention to detail skillset required. • Track record of successful team building and demonstrated leadership capability. • Must be able to run various reports for management as requested. • Must have experience in continuous improvement and problem solving. • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple job tasks. • Lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma knowledge. • Supervisory experience within a union manufacturing environment.
