Position Summary
The Production Manager (in Area 2) - Snow & Ice Management plans and leads safe, timely, high-quality, and financially responsible winter operations for an assigned area. The role manages staffing, campus and non-campus site execution, subcontractors, equipment and material readiness, documentation, billing support, service recovery, and employee development. Production Managers operate at a peer level; one may also be assigned additional logistics responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Event Planning and Production Management - Build and maintain event plans for assigned properties, including service priorities, campus designations, staffing, routes, equipment, materials, subcontractors, staging, communications, relief, and contingencies.
- Lead assigned snow operations under the Operations Manager's daytime command structure and the Vice President of Operations' strategic direction.
- Direct Campus Supervisors at designated campus sites and directly manage assigned crews, operators, drivers, and subcontractors at sites without a Campus Supervisor.
- Monitor forecasts, conditions, service status, labor, overtime, materials, asset availability, refreeze, hauling needs, quality, and client commitments and adjust or escalate promptly.
- Coordinate routine client and Account Manager communication, service recovery, extra-work approval, hauling or relocation, and scope questions within assigned authority.
People, Systems, and Financial Accountability - Plan staffing, recruiting, onboarding, training, qualification, cross-training, relief, succession, and performance expectations with Operations and Human Resources.
- Provide goals, coaching, reviews, recognition, and documented accountability for direct reports and address attendance, conduct, safety, or performance concerns promptly.
- Verify Aspire work tickets, time, issues, photographs, Sitefotos QA, material quantities, subcontractor records, and billing support are complete and accurate.
- Track labor, overtime, materials, subcontractors, hauling, equipment, rework, and other event costs and implement corrective action when results vary from plan.
- Maintain accurate inventory and asset readiness and coordinate repair, transfer, resupply, loading, and contingency needs with Operations, Fleet, and logistics partners.
Safety, Quality, and Improvement - Lead preseason and event safety preparation, training verification, job hazard review, incident response, corrective action, and accountability for assigned operations.
- Conduct field inspections to verify contracted service, property protection, material practices, documentation, and safe execution across campus and non-campus sites.
- Complete after-action reviews and update site plans, staffing models, equipment assignments, material plans, training, and communication based on event results.
Qualifications and Requirements - Associate or bachelor's degree in operations, business, landscape management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- At least two years of managerial snow and ice experience or comparable weather-driven field-operations leadership; SIMA Advanced Snow Manager credential is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage employees, subcontractors, schedules, budgets, event plans, materials, assets, documentation, and customer commitments.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet Company driving requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and service-management, timekeeping, photo, training, weather, mapping, and communication systems; Aspire and Sitefotos experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, planning, financial judgment, organization, communication, listening, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Split time among office, facility, vehicle, and active snow sites and travel within the assigned service area.
- Frequently stand and walk; occasionally bend, kneel, squat, reach, push, pull, climb, and navigate snow-covered or icy surfaces.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance or approved lifting methods.
- Work outdoors in darkness, precipitation, extreme cold, wind, ice, traffic, noise, exhaust, and active equipment conditions and wear required PPE.
- Work the hours necessary to fulfill event leadership responsibilities, including early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, extended events, and post-event follow-up.
Pay Range: $31 - $46 per hour
