Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dynamic results oriented Production Manager to join our Insulation Greer, SC team.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Ensure plant meets profitable production goals and quality standards while remaining within budget limitations
- Act as interface between plant management and production staff
- Lead continuous improvement programs and manufacturing process improvements using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other problem-solving methodologies
- Develop production schedules and make strategic decisions to adjust programs when time or budget constraints are encountered
- Organize and cross-train worker teams to maximize production flexibility and operational efficiency
- Implement and monitor KPIs to assess, analyze, and track manufacturing processes against established goals and objectives
- Inspect machines and equipment to ensure optimal operational performance; consult with Engineering and Maintenance on necessary modifications
- Establish and enforce comprehensive safety guidelines and procedures, including conducting monthly safety meetings, overseeing safety training, investigating accidents, and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Manage the full employment lifecycle for production personnel, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions
- Foster workforce accountability and continuous learning through goal-setting, employee empowerment, regular feedback, and one-on-one coaching
- Address employee concerns and grievances in coordination with Human Resources and Plant Management
- Monitor production costs and identify opportunities to reduce steps, time, and material waste
**Scope of Authority:**
Manages 20-30 employees in the Manufacturing Department with full supervisory responsibility for direction, coordination, and evaluation. Travel required 3-5 times per year.
Qualifications**Required Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, OR 5+ years of progressive leadership/management experience in manufacturing
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of health, safety standards, and regulatory compliance
- Experience with budgeting, capital equipment analysis, and cost accounting
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies
- Excellent organizational and planning skills with ability to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines
