Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead the production management on an exciting new animated feature film.

In this role, you will oversee the master schedule, production priorities, reporting, crew planning, and quota projections. Partnering closely with Producers, Heads of Departments, Craft Supervisors, and Production Supervisors, you will ensure the project remains on schedule, on budget, and supported by a healthy, sustainable team environment.

This is an opportunity to play a pivotal leadership role on a major feature production, guiding both the project and the production team toward successful delivery.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create and maintain the master production schedule, integrating departmental schedules.

  • Communicate priorities, milestones, quotas, and deadlines across teams.

  • Monitor asset and shot priorities, addressing schedule variances and collaborating on solutions.

  • Partner with Producers and Creative leadership to resolve competing priorities, as well as other studio leadership such as Workplace and Artist Management.

  • Ensure breakdowns align with the current brief and budget, flagging risks or variances.

  • Oversee accurate project tracking and reporting, including ad hoc reporting as required.

  • Identify review-related risks impacting scope, schedule, or budget and escalate appropriately.

  • Lead and support Production Supervisors, Coordinators, and Assistants, ensuring clarity and accountability.

  • Mentor and develop the production team, fostering growth and capability.

  • Support crew planning, overtime management, and leave coverage in collaboration with Producers and Artist Management.

  • Facilitate effective cross-department and cross-site communication.

  • Proactively identify risks, recommend solutions, and communicate updates in a timely and professional manner.

  • Maintain and develop expertise in production tools, workflows, and industry best practices.

  • Traveling between our three studio locations on certain occasions might be needed.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 7+ years’ experience in production on large-scale Animation or VFX projects.

  • 2+ years’ experience in a Production Manager (or equivalent senior production leadership) role.

  • Senior production experience on at least two feature Animation or VFX projects.

  • Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring large teams.

  • Advanced scheduling expertise and strong knowledge of database/project tracking systems (Autodesk Flow Production Tracking experience essential).

  • Deep understanding of feature animation pipelines and workflows.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

  • Calm, solutions-focused leadership style, with strong interpersonal awareness.

  • Ability to build trust, inspire teams, and collaborate effectively across departments

This role is based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Hybrid Role (Minimum of 3 days a week in

the office).

This reflects total compensation; we do not have bonuses.
