Full Job Description
ICP Group is looking to hire a Production Manager for our Sun Coatings plant in Tampa, FL. Our products are quality latex-based paints, solvent-based paints, wallpaper adhesives and white and clear caulks. Under the direction of the Plant Manager, you will lead shop floor plant operations by coordinating material movements through the facility from raw material to finished goods ensuring that products meet the quality and service expected from our customers. In this role you will be responsible for the following: • Support Safety and Health Excellence by ensuring your actions and your team's actions match your words. Guide your supervisors and production teams to move from a culture of just compliance to true commitment. • Monitor quality of all products produced ensuring quality tests are performed, standards are met, root causes of deviations are identified and resolved to prevent recurrence. Drive On Time in Full performance for the site to achieve the plant's goals. • Provide input into product scheduling of the plant and develop staffing plans to effectively execute the plans. Identify barriers to progress and resolve in a sustainable fashion. • Coordinate with Production Planning and Purchasing to maintain target levels of raw material and accurate finished good inventories through effective use of the current tools and processes. • Effectively provide pinpointed specific positive and constructive feedback to team members in order to improve the team's performance. • Provide input to the Plant Manager for the development of annual facility and operational capital project plans by providing ideas, data and resources. • Help Plant Manger establish performance goals and targets with subsequent follow up and coaching sessions aimed at improving employee's skillset. • Ensure production areas are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion by building a culture that understands and supports those activities. • Establish floor level KPIs which visually show the team if we are on track or off track toward achieving the plant goals. Diagnose when gaps appear and implement improvements to people/processes/systems to close those gaps and sustain the performance gains. • Own the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for production by ensuring accuracy and compliance. • Provide factual daily, weekly, monthly updates to the Plant Leadership Team. • Support corporate productivity goals through effective plan creation, implementation. • Demonstrated ability to drive the Plan/Do/Check/Act cycle when managing change. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing and engineering preferred • 5-10+ years of experience in the specialty chemical/paint industry • 5 years of management experience in directing a high performance, manufacturing team with measurable results and improvements. • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred. • Demonstrated success in new product development, plant scale-up of new products, and subsequent technical support of launched products. • Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills. • Must demonstrate strong verbal, written, and analytical skills as well as have the ability to interact effectively with plant managers, team leaders and team members. • Proficient in Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook. • Knowledge of Safety and Environmental regulatory requirements associated with manufacturing.
