Full Job Description

Your New Role

        The Production Finance Manager is responsible for providing production finance managerial support across motion picture productions throughout development, production, wrap, and post production. This role partners closely with freelance production accounting teams, production teams, corporate accounting, treasury, tax, and digital systems to ensure financial accuracy while supporting productions in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.

Your Role Accountabilities

Production Financial Management

  • Provide end‑to‑end managerial production finance support for assigned productions from development through final cost

  • Ensure compliance with studio financial policies, SOX controls, and audit requirements

  • Serve as a primary escalation point for production finance issues and risk mitigation

  • Partner with Centers of Excellence (Tax, Treasury, Digital Systems, Payroll) to ensure aligned execution

Banking, Cash & Treasury Management

  • Oversee production bank account setup, maintenance, reconciliation, and closure (US)

  • Review and maintain payment approval workflows and authorized signatories

  • Ensure timely bank reconciliations, statement reviews, and proper digital filing

  • Manage lockbox deposits, wire access, and funding confirmations as required

  • Oversee Cashet / Cashet Pay setup, approvals, and ongoing account maintenance

Cost Reporting & Cash Flow

  • Review weekly, monthly, and quarterly cost reports for accuracy and completeness

  • Validate trial balances, ETCs, variances, and supporting documentation

  • Ensure cost report totals are properly “tick‑and‑tied” to system‑generated reports

  • Review and monitor cash flow submissions and funding needs against cost reports

SAP & Financial Systems

  • Oversee SAP invoice processing, coding accuracy, approvals, and timely payments

  • Review SAP reconciliations each period to ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper approval

  • Monitor CTD reports and pending transactions; escalate issues as needed

  • Ensure financial records are properly filed and maintained for audit readiness

  • Coordinate A/R setup, recharges, and journal entries as required

Digital Systems & Access Controls

  • Manage provisioning and deprovisioning of production accounting staff system access with digital systems

  • Perform quality control checks to ensure proper segregation of duties

  • Oversee access to production systems (e.g., Cashet, Smart Accounting, Smart PO, SmartTime, SharePoint, BOX)

  • Ensure workflows and approvals remain compliant throughout the production lifecycle

Development & Payroll Oversight (US)

  • Oversee payroll processing for development projects

  • Review payroll coding, approvals, and posting reports for accuracy

  • Coordinate SAP journal entries related to payroll and development costs

  • Ensure development accounts remain compliant with studio standards

Post‑Production & Wrap

  • Coordinate pre‑wrap and wrap meetings with production and post teams

  • Ensure final reports, filings, and reconciliations are complete and accurate

  • Oversee return of production funds and closure of financial accounts

  • Support audit readiness through final compliance checks

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3+ years relevant and/or previous work experience in production finance or production accounting (preferred, not required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field

  • Ability to manage multiple productions and deadlines simultaneously

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with creative and financial teams

  • Experience working in a studio or large‑scale production environment
