OverviewWho we're looking forToyota's Production Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Production Engineer.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support existing production lines and manage Engineering projects.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the Engineering Department's objective to support existing production lines and manage Engineering projects.
What you'll be doing - Lead project activity, requiring management of internal & external resources, from concept to completion.
- Make decisions for process equipment, layouts, investment, process planning, & tooling for KPI results achievement.
- Handle - lead and / or manage more than one project simultaneously.
- Determine & set process RJ for assigned production lines / area.
- Work seamlessly with other departments, Senior Management, and peers.
- Must be comfortable making presentations.
- Prioritize and implement safety, quality, and productivity improvements; use problem-solving and kaizen implementation to achieve KPIs and improve competitiveness.
- Create, modify, and follow Engineering standards.
- Apply TPS principles for continuous improvement and elimination of waste.
- Travel, domestically and internationally, on occasion.
What you bring - BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) or 5+ years' equivalent experience in an Engineering capacity.
- 3+ years' experience with mechatronics, which is a combination of engineering systems such as robotics, electronics, computer, telecommunications, systems and controls engineering to implement technological improvements.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization, as well as external affiliates.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Ability to work up to 25% overtime as needed, plus flexibility to support weekend, temporary evening shift, and holidays as needed.
Added bonus if you have - Experience with any of the following:
- Assembly,
- Machining,
- Gear,
- Heat-treat, or
- Stator Manufacturing
- Experience with Robotics.
- Toyota Unit Plant Experience.
- Project Management Experience.
- Panel-certified with Toyota Business Practices (TBP problem-solving methodology).
