Overview

Microsoft's software supply chain is only as strong as the controls that span each step-from code and build to signing, scanning, vaulting, distribution, and licensing-and the Trust and Secure Services (TSS) portfolio is the linchpin that makes that end to end assurance possible. TSS's centralized code signing creates a verifiable chain of trust so Windows and other products can block unsigned or tampered code, while multi engine malware and vulnerability scanning enforces policy gates and quarantines threats before release; together they prevent compromised artifacts from ever reaching customers. Secure vaulting and controlled distribution ensure only validated, hash verified content is published over encrypted channels with entitlement checks, and a unified publishing pipeline keeps those controls consistent across endpoints and clouds. Finally, content protection and licensing entitlement, activation, and cryptographic enforcement to the runtime, protecting both customers and Microsoft's IP; in short, TSS services are the critical, company wide guardrails that keep the supply chain intact, traceable, and resilient against evolving threats.
