Full Job Description
The Merchant Payments & Integration team is the engine behind how merchants go live with Truemed and how they stay live. As Product Manager for this team, you will own the full merchant journey: from first API call to first sale, through ongoing payment operations, revenue reconciliation, and platform ecosystem growth. You will work with a technical engineering team to build the developer experience, payment infrastructure, and merchant-facing tooling that let our partners run their businesses with confidence.

We're looking for someone who is technical enough to speak credibly with engineers and merchants' dev teams, but who finds their edge in customer empathy and clear communication - someone who can translate a messy integration problem into a crisp spec, and a merchant's operational pain into a well-scoped product initiative. Payments experience is a bonus; the ability to quickly learn domain language and build trust with technical stakeholders is essential.

What you will do
  • Own the end-to-end merchant experience: from developer onboarding and API integration through payment operations, revenue reconciliation, dispute management, and merchant dashboards
  • Own the developer platform roadmap: API design, documentation, sandbox environments, and integration tooling that reduce time-to-first-sale
  • Partner with engineering to design and ship platform integrations (Shopify, direct API, and emerging channels)
  • Serve as the voice of the merchant - synthesizing feedback from sales, merchant support, and direct merchant conversations into a prioritized roadmap
  • Define success metrics for merchant health (time to first sale, NRR, merchant NPS) and instrument the systems needed to track them
  • Navigate the intersection of payments infrastructure and compliance requirements, translating regulatory constraints into implementable product decisions
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across sales, customer support, and engineering to ensure smooth merchant launches and ongoing partner success
Who you are
  • Developer or merchant-facing experience: 3-5 years in product management, solutions engineering, developer relations, or a technical customer-facing role. You've sat across from a developer trying to integrate something you built, and you've felt the friction.
  • API fluency: You've worked on or with REST APIs. You understand webhooks, auth patterns, error handling, and what good API documentation looks like. You can participate meaningfully in API design conversations.
  • Operator mindset: You think about what merchants need to run their business - reconciliation, reporting, dispute resolution - not just what gets them to first sale. You understand that retention is a product problem.
  • Communication as a superpower: You're the person who can take a complex technical concept and make it immediately clear to a non-technical merchant or executive. You write with precision. You run meetings that end with decisions.
  • Bias for action: You default to shipping something and learning, not waiting for perfect specs. You've shipped a meaningful v0 in under two weeks and know what it takes to do it again.
  • AI-fluent: You use LLMs to move faster - drafting specs, analyzing feedback, summarizing research - and you think about how AI can improve the products you build.
Bonus (not required)
  • Experience in payments, fintech, or financial infrastructure (merchant acquiring, money movement, reconciliation systems)
  • Familiarity with Shopify's platform ecosystem (apps, checkout extensions, payment customizations)
  • Experience at a company that sells to developers or technical buyers (Stripe, Twilio, Plaid, Affirm, etc.)
Comp and benefits
  • Comp and equity in the top decile for Series A startups
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with employer sponsored HSA contributions
  • 401(k)
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Based in San Francisco, Los Angeles, or Austin
  • Coworking stipend
  • L&D Stipend
  • 2x/year company offsites and 2x/year team offsite
