Full Job Description
Funnel Leasing Inc. is hiring for a Product Manager, Payments. As the Product Manager, Payments, you will be responsible for the strategy, roadmap, requirements, and cross-functional execution of payment-related experiences across Funnel's platform. You'll partner closely with Engineering, Design, Strategy, Customer Success, Implementation, Support, Finance/Operations, and external payment partners to ensure payments workflows are reliable, intuitive, scalable, and aligned with customer and business needs.

This role is ideal for a product manager or technical product manager who is comfortable working in complex technical systems, understands the importance of accuracy and trust in payment experiences and accounting workflows, and can balance customer needs, operational requirements, compliance considerations, and technical constraints. You should be able to understand technical proposals, ask effective implementation questions, and translate technical complexity into clear product requirements. The salary range for this role is $100,000.00 - $140,000.00.

The Product Manager, Payments essential roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Roles and responsibilities:
  • Own the payments product roadmap, including discovery, prioritization, delivery, and iteration.
  • Understand, define and document product requirements for payment workflows, failure state, reconciliation, settings, integrations, reporting, error handling, and operational tools.
  • Partner with Engineering and Design to deliver reliable, user-friendly payment experiences for customers, renters, and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Product, Strategy, CX, Implementation, Support, Finance, and Payment Operations to identify needs, risks, and opportunities to improve operational tooling, reduce escalation volume, and ensure payment issues can be detected, triaged, and resolved efficiently.
  • Drive external partner discovery and clarification when vendor documentation, APIs, webhooks, or implementation details are incomplete; identify risks, document open questions, and align internal teams on assumptions and next steps.
  • Own reconciliation strategy and ensure payment-related features meet expectations for reliability, clarity, compliance, security, and operational readiness across PMS integrations, Funnel data, payment vendor data, payouts, bank activity, customer reporting, and internal controls.
  • Use data, customer feedback, support trends, and stakeholder input to prioritize improvements and monitor product stability.
  • Coordinate launches, release notes, training materials, and internal enablement for payment-related changes.
  • Monitor post-launch performance and drive follow-up improvements.
  • Evaluate complex payment configuration models and drive simplification, standardization, and guardrails to reduce customer misconfiguration and inconsistent operational outcomes.
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement and learning

Education, Work Experience, and Certifications
  • 3-5 years experience as a Product Manager, ideally with ownership of payments, billing, fintech, financial operations, integrations, or other high-trust transactional workflows.
  • Experience or strong aptitude for understanding property management ledgers, PMS workflows, accounting concepts, open charges, payment posting, batching, payouts, debits, and reconciliation.
  • Strong ability to break down complex systems into clear product requirements and phased delivery plans.
  • Comfort working with technical teams on APIs, integrations, data flows, configuration, and edge cases.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills, especially with Engineering, Design, Operations, Support, and customer-facing teams.
  • Strong judgment around prioritization, risk, tradeoffs, and release readiness.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity, ask the right questions, and bring structure to complex problem spaces.
  • Customer-minded approach with a strong sense of ownership for the end-to-end experience.
  • Detail orientation, especially around accuracy, error states, permissions, and operational impact.
  • Ability to balance strategic roadmap thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Experience leveraging AI within the product management/SDLC lifecycle


Nice to Have
  • Experience in property management, multifamily, proptech, leasing, CRM, or resident experience software.
  • Familiarity with payment compliance, fraud prevention, security considerations, PCI-adjacent workflows, or financial reporting.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships or third-party integration work.
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira, Notion, Figma, Pendo, Looker, or similar systems.
  • Experience supporting both customer-facing and internal operational workflows.
