Job Description:
Location:Remote, hybrid, or in-office (Columbus, OH).
Role Summary:
We’re hiring a Product Manager to own Hometown’s fan and mobile experiences. This includes the end-to-end fan journey, from discovery and checkout through ticket management, gate entry, and ongoing engagement, as well as the mobile tools schools use to operate their events.
Mobile is a core part of this role because it is increasingly the primary way both fans and school staff experience Hometown. You will lead work across our native apps and mobile web experiences while ensuring they connect seamlessly with Box Office, Engage, payments, reporting, and other school-facing workflows.
This is not primarily a backlog-management role. You will define where Hometown should go, identify the highest-value opportunities, and lead cross-functional teams from discovery through measurable business results. A major part of your mandate will be helping Hometown use fan behavior and purchase data to create more value for schools, increase engagement, and unlock new revenue opportunities.
This role reports directly to the Head of Product and is ideal for an experienced product leader who thrives with meaningful ownership, complex customer problems, and the opportunity to shape an important part of Hometown’s future.
What You'll Own:
The product strategy and roadmap for Hometown’s fan and mobile experiences
The end-to-end fan journey, including event discovery, checkout, ticket access, transfers, mobile wallets, gate entry, and post-purchase engagement
Mobile event-management experiences that help athletic directors and event staff operate effectively while on the go
Growth and engagement opportunities that increase conversion, repeat attendance, fan loyalty, and revenue
The use of fan behavior, purchase patterns, and event data to provide schools with useful insights and actionable recommendations
Product experiences that cross Fan, Gate, Box Office, Engage, payments, reporting, and identity
The metrics and learning agenda used to evaluate product performance and guide future investment
What You'll Do:
Establish a clear, compelling vision for how Hometown should serve fans and mobile users over the next several years
Translate company strategy, customer needs, market trends, and product data into a focused roadmap
Identify and evaluate new opportunities related to fan engagement, personalized communication, loyalty, offers, monetization, and school revenue
Lead discovery with fans, athletic directors, event staff, and internal teams to uncover meaningful problems and validate potential solutions
Partner closely with design and engineering to deliver intuitive, accessible, reliable, and scalable experiences
Define measurable outcomes for major initiatives and use qualitative and quantitative evidence to evaluate results
Improve key moments in the fan journey, including event discovery, checkout conversion, ticket retrieval, venue entry, and return engagement
Help schools better understand their audiences through fan insights, segmentation, purchase behavior, and attendance patterns
Make thoughtful tradeoffs across customer value, business impact, technical complexity, and speed
Communicate product strategy and recommendations clearly to executives, engineers, designers, go-to-market teams, and customers
Mentor developing product managers and contribute to stronger product practices across Hometown
Use modern AI tools to accelerate research, analysis, prototyping, documentation, and product decision-making
Preferred Education and Experience:
You have 4 or more years of product management experience, or equivalent experience demonstrating a strong level product ownership
You have successfully owned and evolved a complex product area with meaningful customer and business impact
You have shipped consumer mobile or mobile-first experiences and understand what makes them fast, intuitive, reliable, and trustworthy
You are comfortable working across consumer and B2B workflows, balancing the needs of end users, customers, and the business
You think strategically and can convert an ambiguous opportunity into a clear product direction and actionable roadmap
You combine strong product judgment with customer research, behavioral data, experimentation, and business analysis
You understand consumer growth concepts such as conversion, activation, engagement, retention, segmentation, and monetization
You are an excellent writer, communicator, and storyteller who can build alignment without relying on authority
You collaborate effectively with engineering and design and have enough technical fluency to lead complex, cross-platform initiatives
You are highly self-directed and bring recommendations and solutions, not just questions and status updates
You enjoy mentoring others and helping raise the quality of product thinking across a team
You are curious about new technology and use AI tools thoughtfully to improve the speed and quality of your work
Nice To Have:
Consumer mobile applications
Ticketing, events, entertainment, or commerce
K-12 education or school athletics

Consumer engagement, loyalty, lifecycle marketing, or growth
Analytics, personalization, or customer-data products
Compensation:
