The Settlement Product Management Director role is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the safety, resiliency, efficiency, and client experience of DTCC's day-to-day DTC settlement services (Run the Business / bank 'pillar). The role provides senior product leadership across the production lifecycle, using data, disciplined governance, strong documentation, and clear accountability to identify emerging risks, manage business impact, and sustain reliable outcomes for clients and the market.

Operating within Equity Clearing & Settlement's integrated product model, the Director partners closely with Operations, Risk, Technology, Client Services, Regulatory Relations, and Finance and in tandem with Product Managers focused on delivery (Deliver the Business) and strategy (Change the Business) pillars. The role serves as a senior subject-matter leader for the DTC settlement lifecycle and translates production insight, client needs, controls, incidents, regulatory obligations, and performance trends into prioritized actions and sustainable product improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Settlement product leadership: Provide end-to-end product oversight for DTC settlement services and related capabilities, with a strong understanding of transaction input, processing, settlement completion, intraday activity, cutoffs, end-of-day processing, and downstream dependencies.
  • Production health and service performance: Monitor volumes, service levels, exceptions, client impacts, incidents, recurring defects, and operational trends; use data to expose issues early, establish accountability, and drive timely resolution.
  • Risk, controls, and resiliency: Partner with Operations, Risk, Technology, and control functions to maintain a sound control environment, address findings and vulnerabilities, strengthen recovery and contingency readiness, and support applicable regulatory and resilience obligations.
  • Settlement domain stewardship: Apply knowledge of DTC settlement processing, including settlement controls and liquidity and risk-management mechanisms, to assess business impacts and support safe, efficient market outcomes.
  • Incident and problem management: Act as a senior Product Management lead for significant production events, coordinating impact assessment, stakeholder communication, root-cause follow-through, remediation, and lessons learned.
  • Client and industry experience: Maintain a client-centric perspective across daily service management; engage with clients and internal client-facing teams to understand issues, communicate impacts, and identify opportunities to improve transparency, usability, and service quality.
  • Change intake and prioritization: Convert production insights, client feedback, risk items, regulatory needs, and operational pain points into clearly defined enhancements; partner with Deliver the Business and Change the Business to sequence work and ensure appropriate ownership and execution.
  • Release and operational readiness: Represent Run the Business in release planning, testing, implementation, and readiness reviews; confirm that procedures, controls, communications, training, support models, and escalation paths are complete before production deployment.
  • Governance and management reporting: Prepare clear, data-driven materials for leadership and governance forums, providing transparent views of service health, risks, issues, decisions, dependencies, and recommended actions.
  • Financial and capacity management: Contribute to annual planning, budgeting, resource prioritization, vendor oversight, and cost management for the Settlement product portfolio.
  • Cross-functional leadership: Break down silos and align global teams across Product, Operations, Technology, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Client Services around shared outcomes.
  • People leadership: Lead, coach, and develop product professionals; set clear expectations, promote accountability and sound judgment, and foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and client focus.

Note: The primary responsibilities of this role are not limited to the activities described above.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience in product management, securities processing, market infrastructure, financial services operations, or a comparable discipline
  • Bachelor Degree Preferred or equivalent experience.

Talents Needed for Success:

  • Familiarity with DTC settlement controls and liquidity and risk-management mechanisms, including the Collateral Monitor, Net Debit Cap, Settlement Progress Payments, and related exception-management processes.
  • Working knowledge of settlement transaction flows, intraday and end-of-day processing, controls, cutoffs, participant impacts, exception management, and relevant risk and liquidity mechanisms.
  • Demonstrated experience managing production services in a highly regulated, high-availability environment, including operational risk, controls, resilience, incident response, and root-cause remediation.
  • Strong product-management discipline, including backlog prioritization, requirements definition, release planning, operational readiness, and product lifecycle management and governance, and the interaction among Run the Business, delivery, and longer-term strategic change.
  • Working knowledge of Agile delivery practices and tools such as Jira or comparable product and workflow-management platforms.
  • Executive-level written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to create dashboards, business cases, and governance materials that translate complex information and settlement issues, risks, and recommendations into clear and concise decisions and actions.
  • Proven ability to use metrics, trend analysis, and structured problem solving to identify risks, analyze service volumes, performance indicators, assess client and business impacts, and make decisions using reporting, visualization, or business-intelligence tools.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and make sound decisions across Product, Operations, Technology, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and client-facing organizations.
