Product Manager - Connected Products
Location: On-site in Mebane, NC
Base Salary Rate: $102,931 - $121,095 per year

About This Role
Kidde Global Solutions' purpose is to make the world a safer place to live by protecting what people care about most-their loved ones and their property. Within the Connected Products (Detection & Alarms) segment in North America, the Product Manager will play a critical role in driving connected product strategy, digital integration, and lifecycle management across our smart portfolio.
This role is responsible for executing the smart product vision, managing connected detector and alarm models across retail, e-commerce, and professional channels, and delivering insight-driven innovation that enhances home protection and expands ecosystem value. The Product Manager will ensure seamless new product introductions and effective lifecycle management, partnering closely with Engineering, Software, Supply Chain, Demand Planning, PMO, Consumer Insights, Marketing, Sales, and external ecosystem partners.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Vision
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive smart product strategy for connected detectors and alarms in North America.
• Define and communicate a clear product vision aligned with enterprise objectives, digital roadmap priorities, and ecosystem integration goals.
• Utilize market and competitive research across smart home platforms to identify consumer needs, emerging technology trends, and whitespace opportunities.
• Translate consumer insights and connected data into prioritized innovation roadmaps, feature enhancements, and subscription opportunities.
Cross Functional Ownership
• Drive cross-functional alignment across hardware, firmware, software, and mobile app teams to ensure successful product development and launches.
• Partner with Sales to unlock incremental growth opportunities across retail, e-commerce, and strategic smart home partnerships.
• Ensure strong integration with smart home ecosystems and external partners to enhance product value and consumer experience.
• Champion a consumer-first mindset while promoting accountability, innovation, and execution discipline across teams.
Performance Management & Analysis
• Define and track KPIs including connected attach rates, app engagement, subscription conversion, product ratings, and financial performance.
• Monitor product profitability, market share, digital adoption metrics, and ecosystem performance to inform investment decisions.
• Leverage product data and consumer insights to drive continuous optimization, feature enhancements, and roadmap prioritization.

Basic Qualifications
• 5+ years demonstrated success in connected hardware, IoT, or smart home product launches and lifecycle management
• Experience in product management
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Engineering, or related field

Preferred Qualifications
• Ability to develop long-term smart product strategies aligned with business, technology, and ecosystem objectives
• Strong understanding of connected devices, firmware/software integration, mobile app ecosystems, and cloud-based services
• Proven ability to leverage product data, consumer insights, and financial metrics to drive decision-making

Compensation and Benefits

The final compensation for this position will be set based on the individual's knowledge, skills, and experience as it relates to the job requirements.
