Full Job Description
About This Opportunity:

As Product Manager, you will lead the research, planning and development of CPA Ontario's Professional Development offerings, with priority on the strategy and execution of the Conference Portfolio. You will translate market research, member feedback and regulatory developments into conference themes, agendas and new learning products, then extend that content into seminars, certificates and on-demand learning. You will build and own the network of speakers, advisors, industry leaders, regulators and academics behind the programming, and partner with Marketing, Events, Operations, Sponsorship and Product across the full product lifecycle. This is an opportunity for a curious, well-connected content professional who works at the intersection of research, relationship building and program design, and who wants a portfolio with real commercial accountability.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead the annual content strategy, planning process and development pipeline for the PD Conference Portfolio, translating emerging trends, member needs, regulatory developments and business challenges into clear portfolio priorities and conference themes, and manage the end-to-end conference development process from concept through delivery.
  • Lead ongoing market research, needs analysis, environmental scans, competitive analysis and stakeholder engagement to identify emerging topics, thought leaders and speaker opportunities, and analyze product feedback, survey results and registration trends to evaluate performance and inform data-driven programming decisions.
  • Own CPA Ontario's subject matter expert development strategy, building a strategic database of speakers, advisors, industry leaders, regulators, academics and practitioners, and managing speaker selection, evaluation, outreach, negotiation and contracting, onboarding and briefing calls.
  • Partner with Marketing, Events, Operations, Sponsorship and Product to support the successful launch and delivery of conferences and learning products, contributing to marketing messaging and promotional content and serving as the primary content lead throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to extend conference content and emerging topics into seminars, certificates, on-demand learning and new product offerings, partnering with the Director, Product Strategy and Innovation to drive revenue growth across the Professional Development catalogue.

To Be Successful You Need:

  • An undergraduate degree in Business, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Education or a related field.
  • Five or more years of progressive experience in professional development, conference strategy and planning, market research, media or a related field.
  • A proven ability to lead research, synthesize market intelligence and translate insights into strategic content plans, learning experiences and product recommendations.
  • Knowledge or experience developing conference, event or learning initiative themes and agendas for professional audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder leadership and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish credibility, influence decisions and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong project and portfolio management skills, with the ability to manage timelines, dependencies, budgets, decision points and competing priorities across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and business judgement, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, including interviewing, networking, facilitation, presentation and senior-level briefing.
  • A CPA designation or a Master of Education is considered an asset.

Salary Range

  • The starting annual salary range for this position is between $82,900 - $103,700 per annum, based on your qualifications, experience, and internal parity. Exceptions may be considered with further review.
