We are seeking a senior network software and strategy professional to establish Advanced Software Planning as a core Photonics Business Unit (PSBU) capability. This role will study, shape, and influence next-generation network software technologies to inform long-range roadmap and investment decisions by translating emerging technology trends and customer use cases into actionable roadmap inputs. The role will also serve as a technical evangelist for 1Finity within the Cloud Infrastructure Provider (CIP) / Hyperscaler (HS) ecosystem to strengthen 1Finity's presence and credibility within this market.
This is a senior individual contributorrole operating at the intersection of research, product strategy, engineering, and market engagement, with significant internal and external influence.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate emerging network software technologies (e.g., digital twins, agentic AI, advanced automation, orchestration, intent-based control) for potential productization
- Assess feasibility, maturity, risk, and readiness of advanced software concepts and architectures
- Translate customer needs, market drivers, and advanced technology use cases into long-range software planning inputs aligned with 1Finity's product strategy
- Recommend build, partner, or ecosystem approaches for advanced software capabilities
- Act as the Advanced Software Planning interface to Product and Engineering teams, providing early strategic and technical direction
- Participate in industry forums, standards bodies, and customer engagements to evangelize 1Finity as an advanced solution provider in Cloud Infrastructure Provider (CIP) / Hyperscaler (HS) markets
- Feed CIP / HS market, customer, and ecosystem insights back into Product, Engineering, and Sales to improve market knowledge and strategic alignment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field; advanced degree preferred
- 15+ years of experience in networking, network software, cloud infrastructure, automation, or related technology domains
- Deep experience with network software architectures, including APIs, telemetry, automation, orchestration, and cloud-native systems
- Strong understanding of Cloud Infrastructure Provider (CIP) networks, operational models, and technology trends
- Proven experience translating emerging or advanced technologies into product strategy, platform planning, or long-range roadmaps
- Ability to operate effectively at the intersection of strategy, technology, and market engagement
- Strong written, verbal, and executive-level presentation skills
- Experience participating in industry forums, standards bodies, or open ecosystems strongly preferred
- Ability to travel up to20%
As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is:$184,660 - $255,456.00.Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience and skills and may change over time.
