The Role
We are seeking a passionate Product Lead to lead the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for BusPas's core offerings. You will drive the development and evolution of our smart urban infrastructure solutions, focusing on integrating edge AI, IoT sensors, and multimodal transit applications. This is a high-impact leadership role in a fast-growing startup, where you'll shape products that directly contribute to smarter, greener, and more equitable cities worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the product vision and roadmap for BusPas's ecosystem, including smart bus stops, edge AI applications, data platforms, and MaaS (Mobility as a Service) tools.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, hardware, and design teams to prioritize features that integrate system engineering principles for seamless hardware-software-system interoperability.
- Lead user research, gather requirements from transit agencies, municipalities, and stakeholders to ensure solutions address real-world challenges like reducing bus delays, enhancing safety, optimizing multimodal flows, and supporting future automated vehicles.
- Drive product launches, iterations, and scaling based on data insights, pilot feedback (e.g., from deployments in cities like Barcelona and New York), and market trends in smart cities.
- Work cross-functionally to align product initiatives with business goals, including partnerships and solution with third party applications , and sustainable AI adoption.
- Own KPIs around user adoption, system performance, data accuracy, and impact on transit ridership/sustainability metrics.
- Stay ahead of the industry by analyzing market requirements and emerging trends in edge AI, IoT, and urban digital transformation.
Requirements
- Drive, Passion and mission focused
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Lead, ideally in smart city, transportation tech, IoT, edge AI, or related fields.
- Strong systems engineering background with proven experience in integrating hardware (sensors, cameras, edge devices), software, and large-scale infrastructure systems.
- Passion for public transit, multimodal mobility, sustainability, and building solutions that improve urban life.
- Experience working in startup environments, with the ability to thrive in ambiguity and drive outcomes with limited resources.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with technical teams, city officials, transit operators, and executives.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies, user-centered design, and data-driven product decisions.
- Bonus: Experience with AI/ML applications, computer vision, or deployments in public sector/municipal projects.
