Full Job Description
Product Finance Analyst

As a member of Snowflake's Product Finance team, you will help support one of the fastest-growing areas of our business: cloud and AI unit economics. You will develop deep expertise on our cloud infrastructure and emerging AI cost drivers, and act as a strategic partner to Engineering, Product, and Finance leaders. We are looking for an early-career, self-motivated problem solver who is intellectually curious, ambitious, and genuinely cares about making our infrastructure spend more efficient and solving ambiguous business problems.

WHAT YOU WILL DO :
  • Along with 5 other team members, help manage cloud economics for Snowflake. Track actuals vs. forecast, dig into variances, and continuously iterate to improve accuracy.
  • Answer detailed questions around our cloud and AI unit economics (CPC, CPTB, token economics, inference costs). You will enable critical strategic decision making with insightful data and analysis.
  • Identify problems and abnormalities in our infrastructure and AI spend and work to resolve them to minimize business impact. Provide recommendations on ways we can reduce COGS/OpEx and improve margin.
  • Build out tooling in Snowflake, Streamlit, or our BI tools to manage CSP and AI spend. You're focused on scaling our processes and reporting as we grow into a $10bn business. At Snowflake, we pride ourselves on developing our internal tooling vs. relying on 3rd parties for analytics.
  • Be a strong adopter of AI in your own workflows. Use LLMs, Cortex, or similar tools to work faster, and you're excited to push how Finance uses AI day-to-day.
  • Be an expert on the cost reporting structure and differences across AWS, Azure, and GCP, and develop a point of view on the economics of AI workloads (training, inference, serving).
  • Work closely with our Accounting team on our monthly close process by providing guidance on COGS/R&D classification.
  • Become a trusted business partner to our Engineering and Product Management teams on all aspects of our cloud and AI spend. You will be leaned on as an active advisor for cost considerations whenever our infrastructure is involved.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED :
  • New grad to 2 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Management Consulting, or a related analytical field. Experience working in a SaaS business alongside Engineering and Analytics teams is a plus.
  • Strong business intuition. You can look at a number and have a sense of whether it makes sense, and you ask good follow-up questions.
  • Comfort diving into data. You are proficient (or quickly becoming proficient) in SQL, have solid Excel skills, and are not intimidated by large, messy, or unfamiliar datasets. Python and BI tool experience is a plus.
  • Comfort working with and presenting to senior stakeholders. In this role you will be exposed to personas across all levels of the organization.
  • Solid problem solving ability and experience working through ambiguity or unknown datasets. You take initiative and are willing to drive things forward without being asked.
  • Good understanding of GAAP, or eagerness to learn it quickly. You know how to classify something as COGS or OpEx, and if you are unsure, then you know the right questions to ask.
  • Knowing how to communicate complex and technical concepts in a succinct and simplistic manner to a less technically knowledgeable colleague will be critical to success.
  • You have a thirst for knowledge and your first version is never your best. You are a believer that there is always a better way and you continually work towards that.
  • Preferred: Experience analyzing cost and usage data from AWS, Azure, or GCP. FinOps certification is nice to have.
  • Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, Economics, CS, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
