Full Job Description
SUMMARY

GCM Grosvenor is seeking a Product Engineer with professional investment experience to join the Technology Product & Strategy team supporting our Investments organization.

This role combines the business partnership of a strong Business Analyst with hands-on solution delivery. The Product Engineer takes prioritized opportunities and strategic direction from the Product Manager, then works directly with investment professionals to understand the detailed requirements and shape practical solutions. They build and iterate on those solutions using the firm's AI-enabled tools and technology platform, while partnering with Engineering to identify and enhance reusable platform capabilities that better support business needs.

The initial focus will be on partnering across our five investment strategy groups on AI-augmented research solutions then moving into portfolio construction analytics and modeling.

As an onsite/hybrid employee, you are expected to be in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday.

WHO YOU ARE
  • You've spent time inside investment research, portfolio management, or a related function - you know what a diligence process or portfolio review actually looks like, not just the vocabulary.
  • Manual, repetitive process work - disconnected spreadsheets, manual data pulls, copy-paste - bugs you enough that you go build a better way instead of just enduring it.
  • You've used whatever tools you had access to automate or improve your own work and want to do more of it.
  • You're excited about applying AI and modern tooling to real investment problems and want hands-on time building with it - no prior experience with specific tools required, just the interest to learn fast.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Partner with investment professionals to surface real business problems and translate priorities into solutions - feeding findings back to the Product Manager to sharpen direction as understanding deepens.
  • Build and iterate fast using the firm's AI-enabled tooling, favoring reusable platform capabilities over custom engineering - and know when a pilot needs production rigor and hand it to Engineering.
  • Spot the patterns worth turning into reusable platform capabilities.
  • Own solutions through rollout: stakeholder coordination, training, adoption.

EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 2+ years in investment management, investment research, portfolio management, or a related investment role.

It is expected that the hourly range for this Chicago based position will be $77-90/hour. Actual hourly range may vary based on factors such as individual's experience, skills, and qualifications for the role.

Eligible employees can elect to participate in comprehensive healthcare coverage (including medical, dental, vision and life insurance), flexible spending accounts, and the employer sponsored retirement plan. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off, parental leave, short-term and long-term disability, as well as other care/wellness programs.

The firm is headquartered in Chicago, with offices in New York, Toronto, London, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Seoul, and Sydney. For more information, visit: gcmgrosvenor.com.
