Job Description

The Packaged Solutions team is the primary source of product development, management, and support for investment products sold throughout RBC US Wealth Management, including mutual funds, ETFs, CEFs, and 529 plans. In this role, you will conduct research, analysis, and due diligence on investment management firms offering these products, directly influencing the quality of investment advice available to RBC advisors. You will evaluate products for inclusion or removal from RBC platforms and communicate your recommendations across internal and external stakeholder groups, playing a critical role in ensuring platform competitiveness while managing regulatory and operational risk.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
  • Conduct initial and ongoing qualitative and quantitative analysis on investment products, including firm structure, portfolio management, investment approach, and performance.
  • Gather and analyze research data from multiple sources to identify competitive landscape trends and ensure product offerings align with market and client needs.
  • Recommend products for inclusion on or removal from RBC platforms, communicating the rationale both verbally and in writing to advisors, internal partners, and external parties.
  • Represent the product team in meetings with asset managers, advisors, and internal stakeholders; attend industry conferences as appropriate.
  • Maintain and leverage proprietary and external tools and systems to support efficient and regular platform review.
  • Collaborate with internal research teams, product management, and technology partners to support platform competitiveness and advisor satisfaction.
  • Execute strategic and ad-hoc projects to meet regulatory oversight responsibilities and business objectives.


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:
  • Minimum 2 years of investment research or investment analysis experience with an undergraduate degree (BA/BS).
  • Broad knowledge of financial markets, investment industry, and mutual fund, ETF, and CEF products.
  • Detailed understanding of regulatory rules and firm requirements related to complex products and platform suitability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction while collaborating effectively within a team environment.

Nice-to-have:
  • CFA designation or willingness to pursue
  • Securities licenses (Series 7, 63, 65, or 66) or willingness to pursue
  • Advanced MS Office skills, including VBA experience
  • Understanding of portfolio management concepts and investment management responsibilities.

For Minnesota: The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $80,000 - $115,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
