The RoleScotiabank is looking for a Product Designer to join the Global Cash Management Design team, supporting digital experiences across International Corporate & Commercial Banking.
In this role, you will help design intuitive, secure, and accessible digital banking experiences for corporate and commercial clients. Your work will contribute to online business banking platforms that enable clients to manage their accounts, complete key banking activities, and interact with Scotiabank's digital products with confidence.
You will be involved across the product design lifecycle - from understanding user needs and translating insights into design concepts, to developing wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity designs, and supporting usability testing. Working closely with product, technology, and business partners, you will help shape digital solutions that balance customer needs, business objectives, technical feasibility, accessibility, and fraud prevention considerations.
As part of an agile product team, you will contribute to discovery and delivery activities, support product roadmap discussions, and help ensure design solutions are clear, effective, and aligned to the needs of corporate and commercial banking clients globally.
This role contributes to the overall success of Scotiabank's Corporate & Commercial Banking business by supporting the delivery of customer-centered digital experiences in compliance with applicable regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
What You'll Do:- Design digital experiences for responsive web and mobile banking platforms used by corporate and commercial clients.
- Translate user research, business requirements, and product insights into user flows, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.
- Support end-to-end design activities across product discovery, concept development, validation, delivery, and iteration.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, business partners, and other designers to clarify design intent and support implementation feasibility.
- Participate in co-creation workshops, usability testing, design critiques, and product review sessions.
- Develop and maintain design documentation, including user flows, interaction patterns, annotations, design rationale, and handoff specifications.
- Apply accessibility and inclusive design principles to support usable and compliant digital experiences.
- Use design systems, reusable components, and established interaction patterns to create consistent experiences across digital banking products.
- Present design concepts, prototypes, and recommendations to stakeholders and design peers.
- Contribute to agile team ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Support the continuous improvement of design quality, product usability, and customer experience across the team's digital banking portfolio.
DimensionsThe Product Designer plays an important role in shaping digital experiences within the International Corporate & Commercial Banking portfolio. This role will support the design of customer-facing digital banking products and contribute to initiatives that improve usability, accessibility, security, and overall client experience.
The successful candidate will take ownership of assigned design workstreams, contribute to product discovery and delivery, and partner closely with cross-functional teams across design, product, technology, and business groups.
This role requires the ability to translate user needs, business goals, and technical requirements into practical design solutions. The Product Designer will help identify design options, test concepts, document design decisions, and support implementation through collaboration with agile delivery teams.
The role also includes contributing to product roadmap discussions, maintaining alignment with design standards, and supporting the evolution of digital banking experiences for a global client base.
What You'll Bring:Education- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, UX Design, Digital Media, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
Experience- 3+ years of experience in product design, UX design, UI design, or interaction design within digital product environments.
- Experience designing responsive web and/or mobile experiences.
- Experience creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity mockups, and design specifications.
- Experience working with agile product or technology teams.
- Experience supporting usability testing, design validation, or user research activities.
- Experience using design systems, component libraries, or established UI patterns.
- Experience in preparing design documentation and developer handoff materials.
- Experience in banking, financial services, fintech, payments, cash management, treasury services, or commercial banking is an asset.
- Experience designing secure, authenticated, transactional, or data-heavy digital experiences is an asset.
- Experience working on products for corporate, commercial, institutional, or enterprise users is an asset.
Functional Skills- Proficiency with Figma for interface design, prototyping, and design collaboration.
- Working knowledge of tools such as MURAL, Confluence, Jira, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Ability to produce sketches, site maps, conceptual diagrams, user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices, including WCAG principles.
- Ability to create detailed design specifications for software development teams.
- Understanding of responsive design, mobile-first design, and common interaction patterns for web and mobile platforms.
- Knowledge of user-centered design methodologies and product design lifecycle practices.
- Familiarity with data-informed design practices, usability metrics, or product analytics is an asset.
- Spanish language proficiency is a strong asset.
- Additional language proficiency is an asset for supporting global banking products and international client experiences.
