Full Job Description
About the Role

We're looking for a Product Designer to take on some of the broadest and most complex product problems at Assembled. You'll design tools that help support teams understand what's happening across their operations, make high-stakes decisions, plan for the future, and increasingly work alongside AI to get things done.

This is a role for someone excited by making sophisticated software feel remarkably simple. You'll work across new products, foundational workflows, data-rich experiences, and emerging agentic UX patterns. You'll help define how people delegate work to AI, understand its decisions, intervene when needed, and stay confidently in control. You'll have significant ownership: working directly with customers, helping identify the right problems to solve, shaping product strategy, and carrying ideas from early research through polished, shipped experiences.

This is an onsite role based in our New York City office, five days a week (Monday-Friday).

What You'll Do
  • Turn complex operational workflows into products that feel intuitive, powerful, and approachable.
  • Define new interaction patterns for working with AI agents, including how users delegate work, understand decisions, and stay in control.
  • Design data-rich experiences that help customers understand what's happening, why it matters, and what to do next.
  • Shape new product areas and foundational workflows, from planning and analytics to setup, configuration, and integrations.
  • Lead customer research and discovery, translating real operational needs into product strategy and decisions the team can rally around.
  • Partner deeply with product and engineering to influence the roadmap, prototype quickly, and carry ideas through implementation and launch.
  • Use AI agents to instrument experiences, prototype ideas, and run experiments-applying the technology we build on to how we build.

What Excites Us
  • 3+ years designing and shipping production B2B software, with a pull toward complex, consequential customer problems.
  • Strong systems and interaction design; you can distill messy, multi-stakeholder needs into clear, reusable experiences.
  • You turn ambiguity into shipped product quickly, without losing sight of craft or customer impact.
  • You lead your own research and build close relationships with the people who use what you design.
  • You're a strong communicator who brings customers, engineers, product partners, and teammates along with your thinking.
  • You make powerful, data-dense products approachable for non-technical operators without sacrificing depth or flexibility.
  • You're energized by broad ownership and comfortable influencing both product strategy and execution.

Nice to Have
  • You get into the code and have used coding agents to prototype or ship.
  • AI fluency in practice (Cursor, Claude, and whatever comes next), with an informed view of what AI can and can't do today.

Our U.S. benefits
  • Generous medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • Flexible time off
  • Monthly credits for professional development, general wellness, Assembled customers, and commuting
  • Paid parental leave
  • Catered lunches every day (M-F) and fully stocked SF office
  • 401(k) plan enrollment

The estimated base salary range for this role is $130,000 - $180,000 per year. The base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Stock options are provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.

We know great candidates don't always meet every requirement listed in a job description. If the role excites you and you believe you can make an impact at Assembled, we encourage you to apply. We value diverse perspectives and are committed to building an inclusive workplace where everyone feels like they belong and has the opportunity to do their best work. We look forward to hearing from you!
