About the RoleWe're hiring a Design Manager to lead Lending at Chime - including Instant Loans and MyPay - and push the boundaries of what financial experiences can be. You'll own a high-impact product area, leading a team to deliver best-in-class design while partnering closely with Product and Engineering to shape strategy and outcomes. This is a space where the details matter: clarity, trust, and usability aren't nice-to-haves - they're essential to helping members make real financial progress.
This role is also an opportunity to explore what's next. You'll help define how AI can be thoughtfully integrated into lending experiences, making them more responsive, personalized, and intuitive without sacrificing transparency. Along the way, you'll raise the bar on craft, mentor and grow designers, and build systems that scale - all while delivering experiences used by millions of members every day.
The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $202,000 and up to $280,000. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to- Lead and grow a team of product designers working across lending experiences (Instant Loans, MyPay)
- Set a high bar for craft, ensuring polished, thoughtful, and cohesive end-to-end experiences
- Drive product strategy in partnership with cross-functional leaders, shaping roadmaps and outcomes
- Champion member-centric design grounded in research, data, and experimentation
- Identify and integrate AI-driven opportunities to improve user experience and decisioning
- Establish scalable design patterns and systems across lending surfaces
- Mentor designers and build a strong, inclusive, and high-performing team culture
To thrive in this role, you have- Experience leading product design teams delivering consumer-facing digital products
- A portfolio demonstrating strong craft across interaction, visual, and systems design
- Evidence of influencing product strategy and driving measurable outcomes
- Experience working on complex, high-stakes domains (e.g., financial products, lending, risk, or adjacent spaces)
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Data
- Exposure to or experience integrating AI/ML into product experiences
- A track record of hiring, developing, and retaining strong design talent
