About the job

As a Data Scientist for the Google Play Apps team, you will be the core investigative driver for product strategy and business growth. You will partner with engineering, product management, and UX stakeholders to support Google Play engagement. Your work will support organizational objectives and key results aimed at transforming the current app product offering with engaging content experiences. In this role, you will establish a foundational understanding of user behavioral data, helping to guide the product roadmap and experimentation.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $138000 - $198000 (USD) 15% bonus target equity benefits

Responsibilities
  • Perform analysis by utilizing relevant tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python). Use comprehensive technical knowledge, use custom data infrastructure or existing data models.
  • Own the process of gathering, extracting, and compiling data across sources via relevant tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python). Format, re-structure, and validate data to ensure quality.
  • Report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support business reviews with cross-functional/organizational leadership team. Translate analysis results to business insights or product improvement opportunities.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to influence product feature development decisions, with some guidance.
  • Partner with engineering, product management, and other Play/Apps stakeholders to inform product strategy, influence decisions with insights, and establish success frameworks.
