Join BMO’s Retail Insurance Product team as a Product Associate.  The role will support all Retail Insurance products with a focus on products such as Travel, Pet and Health & Dental.  This is an excellent role for someone looking to build expertise in product development and gain exposure to multiple insurance lines. You’ll work closely with the product managers and the Head of Product to execute initiatives, coordinate cross-functional activities, and own smaller workstreams that enhance customer experience and business performance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support new product launches: Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of Travel, Pet etc..
  • Optimize existing products: Contribute to post-launch analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer experience and profitability.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts: Partner with Marketing, Sales, Risk, and Operations to deliver product enhancements and campaigns.
  • Own smaller initiatives: Lead defined workstreams within broader projects (e.g., process improvements, minor product enhancements).
  • Market and competitive analysis: Gather insights, analyze trends, and prepare recommendations to inform product decisions.
  • Sales enablement: Help develop training materials and tools for frontline teams; respond to product inquiries.
  • Risk and compliance: Support risk reporting and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Vendor and partner liaison: Assist in managing relationships with external partners and vendors.
  • Support Creditor Insurance projects as required.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 1–2 years in product management, financial services, or related field.
  • Education: Postsecondary degree in business, finance, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; data-driven decision-making mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Copilot or similar tools are an asset.
  • Experience with Travel, Pet or other insurance products is an asset; general insurance knowledge preferred.
