Purpose of Role:

Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain, the Procurement, Superintendent is Responsible for managing suppliers of goods and services, safeguarding compliance with agreements, including time, scope and cost, as well as ensuring compliance with Hudbay's policies.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Procurement of Goods and services.
  • Perform commercial and technical evaluations of competing proposals.
  • Manage Supplier Relationship effectively and collaboratively drive continuous performance improvement via relevant key metrics (Eg: SHE, Schedule, Cost).
  • Responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects relevant to the prequalification, preparation, issue, receipt, opening and assessment of tenders and award of orders.
  • Ensure commercial correspondence with vendors is efficiently handled.
  • Liaise with end-users / internal clients / requestors to ensure commitments and milestones are achieved and liaise with suppliers to expedite progress mindful of foreseen liquidated damages.
  • Escalate complex functional/technical issues in a timely and proactive manner, to the Procurement Manager or Project Manager if applicable.
  • As necessary, liaise with legal counsel or management for clarification and/or direction with regard to any procurement liabilities that may arise.
  • Provide coaching, support, and guidance to other team members to ensure delivery of results where possible.
  • Liaise with end-users / internal clients / requestors to ensure commitments and milestones are achieved
  • Liaise with Suppliers to expedite progress
  • Normal office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery. Oral and auditory.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management or related field.
  • (Preferred). Experience in a similar role within Engineering, Mining or Construction industries
  • Experience in Capital Procurement.
  • Full MS Office or Google suite Packages at minimum intermediate level.
