Full Job Description
What You'll Do Day-To-Day

Under moderate supervision, this position directly supports the strategic sourcing and acquisition of specialized technical materials, components, equipment, and services critical to our engineering operations.
  • Collaborate on Design: Partner with design engineers during early development to define technical specifications, material requirements, and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Review Technical Documents: Analyze engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to align design intent with strategic procurement goals.
  • Guide Internal Teams: Provide technical expertise regarding material selection, optimal production processes, and supplier capabilities.
  • Evaluate Suppliers: Lead the technical qualification of prospective vendors through on-site audits of their quality systems and production capacity.
  • Resolve Technical Issues: Address and troubleshoot supplier manufacturing challenges to guarantee parts consistently meet quality specifications.
  • Execute Sourcing Plans: Coordinate strategic sourcing initiatives, including complex make-or-buy analyses for custom-fabricated components.
  • Maintain Compliance: Ensure all purchasing activities align with corporate policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing standards.
  • Build Supplier Panels: Research and identify long-term manufacturing partners capable of supporting the company's future production scaling.
  • Mitigate Supply Chain Risks: Identify and neutralize launch risks, including single-source bottlenecks, intellectual property vulnerabilities, and geopolitical factors.


What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in science or technical field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience interpreting complex engineering drawings, technical specifications, and BOMs to ensure strict compliance with nuclear industry regulations and quality control standards.
  • Experience managing team priorities and cultivated strong vendor relationships, leveraging procurement and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to oversee project lifelines.
  • Ability to resolve complex operational issues, facilitating clear collaboration between technical staff, executive management, and customers through detailed reporting and presentations.
  • Ability to apply specialized knowledge of material machining, forming, and welding (gained in manufacturing/aerospace/construction) to streamline supply chain and procurement strategies.


Total Rewards Package

Total Rewards Package
  • Salary: $85,000-$116,000 and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
