Job Summary

Supports Procurement Consultants, Procurement Specialists, and Category Managers in the execution of sourcing and contracting initiatives. Supports analytical work including but not limited to: spend analytics, market complexity, data collection, performance metrics, risk considerations, pricing, total cost of ownership, demand planning, and reporting. Assists with sourcing strategy development, decision making, and contract negotiations. May lead or direct less complex sourcing activities.

Job Description

What you'll do:

Experience with construction contracting, estimating, or project management preferred:

Contracting Duties:
  • Manage portfolio of previously negotiated utility construction contracts. Negotiate new contracts as needed including terms and conditions, to ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards. Prepare and execute related and ongoing contract amendments, etc.
  • Collaborate with team members to gather data related to construction markets, specifically pricing, and negotiate rates based on that data.
  • Provide administrative support for contract-related activities, including audit remediation, dispute resolution, and supplier support.

Sourcing Duties:
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand sourcing needs and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Support all aspects of business partner requests for proposals (RFPs) for utility construction projects.
  • Analyze supplier proposals, pricing, and terms to provide recommendations for contract awards.

General Duties:
  • Conducts market research and analyzes performance metrics to support strategy and decisions regarding suppliers and markets.
  • Conducts research and analysis on spending and prior contracts to assist with contract negotiation.
  • Develop and utilize various models (e.g., pricing, total cost ownership).
  • Build and maintain reports to streamline analysis.
  • Supports bid analysis, as needed.
  • Communicates findings and recommendations of research and analysis to Supply Chain, Procurement, and Fleet Operations (SCPFO) and business partners.
  • Collaborates, as needed, with the Supply Chain Center of Excellence (COE), the Service Center, and business partners on projects and other initiatives to address recurring issues, improve efficiency, and improve satisfaction.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, supply chain, or another related field;
  • OR 4 years of relevant work experience.

Experience:
  • In customer service and/or procurement helpful

Procurement Consultant SG7

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, supply chain, or other related field; OR 4 years of relevant work experience.

Experience:
  • In addition to experience required above, 2 years of relevant work experience, including experience working with cross-functional teams, is required.
  • Supply chain category management experience, preferably within the utility, manufacturing, or construction industry preferred.

In addition:
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills desired
  • Familiarity with Maximo and Cognos preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) desired with an ability to communicate with business partners, stakeholders, and suppliers
