Process/Mechanical Engineer

Compensation

Regenis is looking for a talented Process/Mechanical Engineer to join the team full-time. This position pays $120k - $140k per year depending on experience.

Job Summary

Responsible for engineering design, evaluation, and technical support for anaerobic digester and renewable natural gas (RNG) projects, including new construction, operations and maintenance, technical consulting, and Regenis fabricated equipment. This role collaborates with project owners, subcontractors, operators, construction employees and internal teams to support project development, execution, and operational performance while ensuring compliance with company standards and applicable regulations. Up to 25% travel within the United States is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage engineering activities for new and existing anaerobic digester and RNG projects across the United States.
  • Provide technical oversight, troubleshooting, and process analysis to improve system performance, operations, and maintenance.
  • Support equipment selection, project estimating, scope development, budgeting, and project planning activities.
  • Review vendor quotes, equipment specifications, and engineering deliverables to ensure proper design, sizing, and project compatibility.
  • Identify and resolve gaps related to equipment, controls, materials, and third-party engineering deliverables.
  • Provide design guidance and technical documentation for OEM equipment and project systems.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical documentation, and project records.
  • Coordinate and manage third-party engineering services to support successful project execution.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and field teams to deliver projects safely, on schedule, within scope, and within budget.
  • Communicate regularly with project owners, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding project status, risks, and progress.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, licensing requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Support customer relationships through professional communication and responsive technical support.
  • Travel to project sites nationwide to provide project development assistance, technical oversight, and field support.
  • Promote a collaborative, professional, and team-oriented work environment while supporting operational and project goals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CAD software, including AutoCAD and Plant 3D.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and process calculations, including pipe flow, heating/cooling, and heat/material balances.
  • Strong project management and vendor coordination experience.
  • Knowledge of anaerobic digestion, biogas, and RNG systems.
  • Ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies.
  • Professional, collaborative, and customer-focused approach.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental preferred).
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 5+ years of experience with anaerobic digestion and RNG systems.
  • Dairy industry experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.

Working Conditions
  • Primarily office-based with travel to project sites.
  • Site visits may involve outdoor work, ladders, and stairs in varying weather conditions.
  • Reliable high-speed internet required.
