JIRA SME / Process Expert

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a highly skilled JIRA Implementation SME with a strong expertise in JIRA to lead the establishment of best practices and procedures for utilizing Jira across projects. The candidate will be responsible for implementing Jira to enhance project efficiency and streamline workflows. This role requires an initiative-taking individual who can analyze current processes, identify areas for improvement, and drive the adoption of Jira as a central tool for project management. The candidate who has strong knowledge on Agile will be highly beneficial. The above-mentioned skills need to be augmented with strong Communication & Stakeholder Management skills.

Technical Skills:
  1. Candidate must have 15+ years of experience in IT software development and 8+ years of experience in Jira configuration, implementation, integration.
  2. Architecture & Customization: Design custom workflows, screens, permission schemes, and fields tailored to specific business needs.
  3. Advanced Reporting: Build and maintain dynamic, executive-level dashboards and velocity reports using Atlassian Data Share.
  4. Governance & Security: Administer global user access, maintain system stability, and enforce compliance and change management.
  5. Integration & Migration: Connect Jira with external DevOps and enterprise tools (e.g., GitHub, ServiceNow, Bitbucket) via REST APIs, and manage instance migrations (e.g., Data Center to Cloud). Ability to configure Jira based on project requirement and integrate Jira with other Jira instances.
  6. User Enablement: Function as an advisory partner, train teams, and create documentation to champion best practices
  7. Develop and implement best practices for using Jira across various projects and programs. Deep expertise in different Agile frameworks and implementation
  8. Analyze existing project management processes and identify opportunities for improvement through Jira.
  9. Establish and maintain Jira automation to optimize workflows and reduce manual tasks.
  10. Provide training and support to team members on Jira functionalities and best practices.
  11. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective use of Jira in project management and suggest/implement best practices.
  12. Monitor and report on project progress using Jira dashboards and metrics.
  13. Stay updated on the latest Jira features and enhancements to continuously improve project management practices

Mandatory Skills:
  1. Strong expertise in Jira, including configuration, administration, and automation.
  2. Proven ability to establish and implement best practices for project management.
  3. Excellent analytical skills to assess and improve project workflows.
  4. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
  5. Ability to provide training and support to users of varying skill levels.

Preferred Skills:
  1. Experience with Agile methodologies and project management frameworks.
  2. Familiarity with other project management tools and software.
  3. Knowledge of scripting languages for Jira automation.
  4. Experience in change management and process improvement initiatives.

Behavioral Skills:
  • Resolve technical issues of projects and explore alternate designs
  • Participates as a team member and fosters teamwork by inter-group coordination within the modules of the project.
  • Effectively collaborates and communicates with the stakeholders and ensures client satisfaction

Certification:

Highly preferred to hold Atlassian Certifications such as Jira Administrator or Jira Service Management Specialist.
