As a
Process Improvement Lead, you will support missions and functions by facilitating and leading initiatives that strengthen performance and drive operational excellence, with opportunities to be deployed where improvement expertise is most needed.
What will you be doing!- Leading the facilitation of process improvement initiatives and workshops.
- Applying a mix of traditional and Lean continuous improvement tools and methodologies to diagnose process issues, analyze current state workflows, and design optimized future state processes that eliminate waste and reduce variability.
- Partnering with organizational leaders to identify high-value opportunities for tactical and strategic process enhancements.
- Assisting in the identification and development of key performance indicators (KPIs) for improvement initiatives.
- Monitoring progress of continuous improvement initiatives and related improvement plans.
- Serving as a process improvement leader, facilitator, or contributor on multi-function project teams, ensuring structured problem-solving and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Leading or supporting business process assessments, Lean process reviews, and continuous improvement planning cycles to evaluate process performance and identify new improvement opportunities.
- Participating in performance audits to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Supporting the creation of improvement charters, business cases, scoping analyses, and readiness assessments required to formally launch process improvement initiatives.
- Evaluating and communicating data, resource requirements, and risks to help ensure initiatives are positioned for rapid and effective execution.
- Partnering with line initiative leads on the planning and scheduling of process improvement workshops, stakeholder report-outs, and leadership updates.
- Building organizational capability in process improvement by coaching business leaders and project teams, sharing best practices, and promoting the use of structured methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, problem-solving frameworks).
- Supporting the Mission Optimization (MO) Function in designing and delivering internal training that strengthens enterprise-wide improvement competence and Continuous Improvement culture.
- Championing a culture of continuous improvement by demonstrating and promoting Lean thinking, customer focus, data-driven decision making, innovation, and accountability.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:- Education
- University degree in business or a technical-related field with a minimum of five (5) years pertinent experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Experience
- Must have five (5) years' experience pertinent to leading and/or assisting with the development, facilitation, and implementation of a broad range of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated cross-functional leadership skills, and outstanding communication, training and facilitation skills;
- Strong analytical skills, able to evaluate issues and generate effective solutions, recommendations and effectiveness measures.
- Strong risk management and prioritization skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency working with teams/projects.
- Abiilty to maintain a positive outlook, and has the ability to motivate and expedite others.
- Superior planning and organization skills.
- Ability to be involved in a range of activities, from routine functions to complex assignments requiring initiative, and prioritize effectively within a dynamic work environment.
- Self-motivated, disciplined and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office Applications.
- Broad understanding of the programs and standards that govern mission activities , and a strong commitment to quality principles.
- Knowledge of CNL's management system and organizational structure, work processes and technology, Corporate QA Programs, and applicable standards is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate issues and generate effective solutions, recommendations and effectiveness measures for organizational management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including training, presentation and facilitation skills.
- Knowledge, experience or training in the requirements of project management is a definite asset
- Preference will be given to certified Lean/Six Sigma Green and Black Belts, or equivalent (Lean Sensei), with facilitation experience and training in Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement methodologies.
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's "Standard on Security Screening" and the "Policy on Government Security."
Working Conditions:- Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.
- Mapping workshops, such as Value Stream Mapping, require in-person facilitation that demands long periods of continuous workshop and team management and several days of back-to-back effort.
