Chemours is seeking a
Process Engineer to join our growing Minerals team. This position will be available at our Mill Plant located in
Jesup, GA, Nahunta, GA & Patterson, GA and report directly to the FL/GA Engineering Manager.
The Georgia Process Engineer will provide process and technical support to our mining and separation operations to ensure the safety, reliability, and productivity of the facilities.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: - Adhere to all company safety, environmental, and health rules and all company policies and procedures.
- Learn and understand the separation process. Work with operations to perform adjustments that optimize mill performance, maximize heavy mineral recoveries, and meet product grade targets
- Create daily reports that track feed grade, throughput capacity, product output, and recovery by utilizing Aspen Process Explorer and/or SEEQ software.
- Conduct daily visual inspection of the process at key points both hands-on and with support from operational personnel.
- Aid in engineering, troubleshooting, and incident investigation, including documentation and tracking of systemic issues.
- Participate in related activities such as: Capital Project consulting, Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) reviews, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), and other process and safety reviews.
- Assist the Process Manager to ensure that the area process documentation is accurate and up to date. This would include updates on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Process Flow Diagrams, and Management-Of-Change processes.
The following is required for this role: - 4 year bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related field.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written communications.
- Interest in working in a hands-on environment with various levels of employees in the company.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, or PowerPoint
The following is preferred for this role: - BS in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, or Mining Engineering.
- 1+ years of experience in a technical role.
- Experience working in an industrial production environment.
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
