Process EngineerAbout the RoleAs a Process Engineer, you will play a critical role in improving the quality and performance of our delivered insert cutting tools by coordinating machinery investments, implementing new production technologies, and supporting key operational performance objectives.
You will develop and optimize manufacturing processes, establish process controls, analyze production data, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, productivity, safety, and cost efficiency. Working closely with production, maintenance, R&D, suppliers, and global manufacturing teams, you will help drive strategic improvements across our Inserts Production Plant.
This position offers a combination of shop floor engagement, laboratory analysis, project leadership, and collaboration with global engineering teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcess & Production Engineering- Develop, optimize, and maintain manufacturing processes and process formulations.
- Evaluate existing production methods and identify opportunities to improve quality, productivity, safety, and cost performance.
- Provide daily technical support to production teams, resolving process, equipment, product performance, and quality-related issues.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret process data to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Design, implement, and validate process improvements and production enhancements.
Project Management & Innovation- Lead capital investment projects that support advanced production technologies and new product development initiatives.
- Support Sustainability and Digital Transformation 4.0 initiatives by identifying, evaluating, and implementing emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with R&D, production technology centers, suppliers, and global production facilities to drive innovation and best practices.
- Review process requirements and assess impacts related to cost, schedules, and implementation.
Quality & Continuous Improvement- Participate in and lead continuous improvement projects focused on increasing insert quality and manufacturing efficiency.
- Coordinate corrective action activities through root cause analysis and implementation of sustainable solutions.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, procedures, and operational requirements.
- Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and technical standards.
Team Collaboration & Leadership- Partner with production teams, maintenance personnel, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders to optimize performance.
- Support operators through technical guidance, training, and coaching.
- Promote and support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and operational excellence initiatives.
- Serve as an active contributor and leader on safety, continuous improvement, HAZMAT, and cross-functional teams.
Safety, Compliance, & Reliability- Demonstrate visible safety leadership and foster a proactive safety culture.
- Ensure all processes comply with applicable environmental, health, safety, and industry regulations.
- Support ISO-certified quality, safety, and environmental management systems.
- Work closely with Maintenance and suppliers to improve equipment reliability and preventive maintenance programs.
- Support alternative sourcing initiatives and process improvements to reduce production costs and increase operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a systematic approach to troubleshooting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.

Preferred- Hands-on Process Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of production processes, quality systems, and industrial manufacturing technologies.
- Experience leading capital projects and implementing process improvements.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0, digital manufacturing technologies, or automation initiatives.
