We are seeking a Process Engineer to provide technical support to Operations, Quality, Design Engineering, and Maintenance in resolving manufacturing issues and driving continuous process improvement. This role uses lean manufacturing principles, problem-solving methods, and robust process development to improve efficiency, quality, and profitability.
What You Will Do:- Support processing and set up teams to improve daily efficiency and continuous improvement efforts
- Participate in product launches to ensure a smooth transition from launch to production
- Contribute to PFMEA activities for new product launches
- Implement process improvements, affecting scrap, labor, and downtime
- Lead continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma tools such as 6S, SMED, and error-proofing
- Identify root causes and implement permanent corrective actions for process-related customer rejections to prevent recurrence
- Communicate with suppliers and customers regarding processing materials and equipment
- Lead investigation teams focused on scrap reduction, process improvement, and cycle time reduction
- Establish and maintain robust production processes for each mold
- Establish and maintain optimal machine settings for each mold
- Establish and maintain process standards for raw material dryers
- Provide technical support and training to the processing and molding departments
- Provide problem-solving and engineering support to Tool Room, Maintenance, and Molding
What You Need to Be Successful: - Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited college or university, or equivalent injection molding processing experience
- Minimum 10 years of related manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of thermoplastic morphologies and their properties
- Understanding of polymer chain degradation and its causes and effects
- Fundamentals of Systematic Molding certification
- Master Molder 1 certification
- Master Molder 2 certification
