Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings - carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

Optimize fiber optic cable manufacturing processes through data-driven problem solving, continuous improvement, equipment implementation, and technical project management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze process data and monitor capability, trends, quality, and performance.
  • Resolve process and product issues and support production operations.
  • Lead process improvement, cost-reduction, safety, and equipment projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process, product, and equipment improvements.
  • Support new technology and process transfers into production.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing, maintenance, training, qualification, and calibration documentation.
  • Support equipment selection, installation, qualification, and implementation.
  • Train maintenance and support personnel in troubleshooting.
  • Ensure changes are documented and aligned with safety requirements and plant procedures.


Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field required.
  • 2-5 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, data analysis, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.


Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Minitab, OriginPro, SPC, or process capability analysis.
  • Knowledge of DMAIC, PDCA, or Six Sigma methods.
  • Experience with plastic extrusion, fiber optic cabling, UV-curable technologies, or PLCs.
  • Experience with equipment projects and capital planning.


Work Hours and Travel Requirements
  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
  • Off-shift support as needed.
  • Less than 10% travel.


This position does not support immigration sponsorship.

The range for this position is $84,932.00 - $116,782.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
