Job Title: Procedural Nurse - OBGYN, Family Planning, Lowry



Job Summary:

The Procedural Registered Nurse provides direct patient care in a procedural setting at a proficient level, in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice, and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Monitors and manages the patient in the procedural environment before, during, and after procedures to maintain a safe environment, optimize outcomes, and maximize available resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs circulating functions before procedures, including preparing the procedural environment, orienting and assessing the patient, and reviewing the patient's medical record and surgeon's notes to ensure all prerequisites and preferences are met.
  • Ensures safety checklists and procedures are implemented and documented at all times.
  • Performs circulating functions during procedures, including monitoring and communicating patient condition, documenting interventions and activities, monitoring the sterile field and controlling traffic into, out of, and around the room.
  • Performs scrub functions as needed, including the preparation, selection, and handling of instruments and supplies used during the surgical procedure and performs equipment counts with colleagues.
  • Provides nursing care to a complex, moderate acuity procedural patient population in a technically complex environment.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies (CDPHE, CMS, OSHA, etc.)
  • Ensures compliance with all infection control standards.


Work Location:

Onsite- this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Lowry, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, biological science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

    • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • Three (3) years of registered nursing experience in a procedural/OR setting.


Applicants must meet qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Vascular Nurse experience.
  • Four (4+) years of registered nursing experience in a procedural/OR setting.
  • Bilingual, Spanish-speaking.
  • Moderate sedation experience.
  • Nursing certification (ANCC) in specialty area.
  • Kronos/EPIC experience.


Conditions of Employment:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Colorado.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross healthcare provider-level CPR certification.
  • Complies with applicable University of Colorado School of Medicine, Community Practice mandatory education and training.
  • Maintains all required licensure and certifications for position.
  • Must be able to travel to alternate locations as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, at all levels, including physicians, leadership, and staff.
  • Strong knowledge of CPT & ICD-10 procedure coding.
  • Strong knowledge of value-based care and risk-based coding procedures.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $83,794 to $100,552.
