Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly analytical, resourceful, and intellectually curious Private Equity Analyst to join our investment team in the New York office. This is a junior, entry-level role well suited for a recent graduate with a strong quantitative background. Prior finance experience is not required. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in Mathematics, Physics, Quantitative Finance or related quantitative field from a top college or university. The firm is prepared to provide the necessary finance and investment training for the right individual, with the expectation that this is a full-time, long-term role rather than a short-term training program.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of potential investment opportunities
- Build and maintain financial models, including operating models, return analyses, and scenario/sensitivity analyses
- Support due diligence efforts by analyzing financial statements, market data, and company performance metrics
- Assist with investment memos, presentations, and internal materials for investment committee discussions
- Perform industry and market research, including competitive landscape analysis
- Work collaboratively with senior team members on ad hoc analytical and strategic projects
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree from top academic institution
- Required majors: Mathematics, Physics, Quantitative Finance or related quantitative field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated comfort working with complex data
- High level of intellectual curiosity and ability to learn financial concepts quickly
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple workstreams
- Demonstrated work ethic and interest in private equity, investing, or finance
- Self-starter with ability to work across silos
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with financial modeling is a plus, but is not required
